about a year or two ago i was attending a party at a friend's house. after a couple of drinks i began to feel... weird. i began to experience a sensation most akin to an orgasm, only that it lasted several minutes and there was no apparent cause (i.e. no sexual stimulation)

after the sensation faded i felt an equally intense sadness that also persisted for a few minutes, again without any obvious stimuli.

i have no explanation for what occurred that night and am wondering if anyone is willing to offer any insight.

You say you are an empath, it could have very well been a couple of kids in another room "gettin jiggy wit it" and it could have very well been only one of those kids, perhaps someone with very strong emotions and high energy, seems like thats the only thing i can think of happening... not sure, sweet though haahah

i doubt that it was empathy. (i can only feel simple emotions. i.e. varying degrees of happiness and sadness.) Still it is a possibility.

To be more specific it was so intense it was almost crippling.

hmm.. it could have been someone you know not even in your vicinity having thoughts and emotions related to you maybe family or a close friend. I am also empathic and one year i had bought my family christmas presents and as i was wrapping them on christmas eve all of a sudden i felt this really strong urge to cry, and i was like huh? what the hell? and so i thought about it for a minute and realized it wasnt even coming from me and this was a really strong sensation as you spoke of, i had to stop what i was doing and everything, and then it hit me. It was my mom, it was her who was crying and i could feel it so strong and she lives states away. with empathy it doenst even matter how far away they are, when somebody has strong feelings or emotions that are directly tied with you it can be very intense sometimes almost like your feeling fully exactly what there feeling over every ounce of your body. Your expeirance most definately came from another person, linked directly with you. Thats just odd that you had that orgasm feeling hahah kinda wierd but you know, what can ya do?
