Hi all, im new to this forum and to the supernatural in general. however ive always been interested in it and have had a few experiences in my youth that i cannot otherwise explain. Im 18, which is the peak of psychic awakening, or so ive been told from other sites i have researched. My goal is to be able to control and harness psychic powers. im interested in mainly pyrokenesis but also a little of basic telekenesis (mind reading, telepathic messages, ki balls)

ive tried learning a little bit on my own but havent been able to achieve much. I started out with basic meditation and then moved on to building and manipulating ki. I can form a weak ki ball, but my main problem is ki control. i always feel like ill get the energy to start flowing, and then ill suddenly loose it and have to rench back contol and start over. so i never really build up a signifigant amount of ki, just a small ki ball that dissapates when i loose ki control.

So im wondering if any experienced psychics can give a beginner some advice. Are my goals realistic? and if so what is the best way to go about strengthening and refining these abilities? also, does anyone know any mantras or any other methods of focusing my mind/ opening my chakras to promote better ki control?

Thank you in advance to all who respond

hi. im no expert on this but maybe you could try visualization (if u havent already tried it) or affirmations.

As far as i know u hav get into a relaxed position and visualize yrself in the present moment making a psi ball. Try to use as many senses as possible but the main ones are feel and sight, especially feel.

hopefully others can give u better instructions. i know there's a sight, www.psipog.com. see if that helps in any way.

Thankyou for your input curiousGuy,

I have tried visualization and it does help to improve my concentration. However i still find my self experiencing the same issue of loosing control for a second and having to fight to bring it back. I dont know, maybe the problem is that im not concentrating enough, or not reaching a deep enough state of meditation. And what exactly do you mean by affirmations if i may ask? ive heard the term before but i dont know what it means.

And i usually do get into a comfortable position and reach a relaxed and meditative state before i begin forming a ki ball. I sit cross-legged, with my back straight and my head slighly lowered with my hands clasped in my lap. I also breath deeply in through my nose and out through my mouth. I have not tried using the senses to improve my control tho, other than feel. I usually keep my eyes closed to stay in a meditative state so i never use sight. im not sure how i would incorporate the other senses either.

And thankyou for the link, ill look into it and see if it helps at all

Affirmations are phrases that you repeat to yourself either by thinking the same thoughts and/or listening to recordings of affirmations. (esp. when you are sleeping.) They help you achieve your goals by gradually causing you to believe more strongly in whatever the particular affirmation is meant to do.

EX: "I have superb concentration" or "I can easily control large amounts of ki"

It is important that they are in first-person as this will make them more effective in increasing your belief in the reality you wish to create.

When breathing it may help to use meditation specific breathing techniques. Such as, slowly breath in for four seconds hold for 2 seconds then breath out for four seconds. The deeper of a state of relaxation the less you will be focused on breathing. Also, use belly, or diaphragmatic breathing.

As curiousguy said, feel is very important. You have to actually feel the energy flowing and forming a ball.

You might also want to practice thought subordination as described in Franz Bardon's "Initiation into Hermetics". Basically, before you fall asleep and immediately after you wake up, you let your train of thought wander and just watch as a silent observer. (if that makes sense) Do this until you can maintain that state for about 10 minutes minimum. Then instead of letting it wander gently force out any thoughts and maintain an absolutely blank mind for 10 minutes minimum.

It's very useful as it will greatly improve your ability to maintain your focus and, hopefully, this will entail improved ki control.

Good luck and remember practice, practice, practice.
Diligence is key.

Thank you terrelljacobson. I have tried repeating phrases either mentally or verbally while i meditate, although i think they are more towards mantras than affirmations. I repeate the phrase "rirakkusu shi te , buresu , fookasu , shuushuu , koochiku , furoo , ririisu" which means "relax, breath, focus, gather, build, flow, release" in japanese. (im trying to teach myself japanese as a second language and thought that by incorporating it into my meditation i could kill two birds with one stone. It does help put me into a deeper state of meditation.

I also use another phrase for my pyrokenesis training (which i began last week). I repeat the phrase "essensu kasai wa , jibun no chikara ga watashi o kasu" while practicing the dancing flame technique (putting out and relighting a candel). It means "essence of fire, lend me your power." So far all i can manage is to grow and shrink the flame as well as make it flicker, but i cant put it out or relight it yet.

As far as specific breathing techniques, i have not tried any other than breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth. i havent tried timed breaths because i assumed concentrating on my breathing would hinder my focus and prevent full meditation. but i do see your point, and rhythmic breathing probably would actually deepen my meditative state.

That bit on subordinating thoughts sounds interesting. do you know where i could read this "Initiation into Hermetics"? The thing is, thats pretty much how i meditate. I have mild ADD so its difficult for me to clear my mind completely or even partially. I just have too many thoughts comming and going. So when i meditate ive gotten into the habit of letting the thoughts flow rather than trying to force them out. A thought will drift in and ill simply acknowledge it, than dismiss it. Then another thought will drift through and another and another, and ill continue to acknowledge and dismiss them. When i do this i feel deeply relaxed and calm as well as having a hightened sense of awareness even though im tunning out my surroundings and usually have my eyes closed. I would eventually like to learn how to completely clear my mind of thoughts but for the moment it is far too difficult. Ill atleast have to overcome the interference of my ADD before i can do that.

I will continue to practice and improve my abilities. Thankyou for all your input and advice so far. Keep it comming guys

you can probably get it for free as an ebook. (i got it as a torrent) or you can search the forum for Franz Bardon/Initiation into Hermetics to find the website. (it costs like $30 if i recall correctly) It's basically a complete course in spiritual and magical training. It contains not only practical information but also metaphysical theory. I, and many others too, recommend it for any beginner (I'm one myself Wink ).

Thanks terrell, ill deffinately look into that

i have a few more questions after trying some more meditation yesterday. Firstly, for someone with ADD like myself would it be best to continue closing my eyes durring meditation? Or would it be better to keep my eyes open and focus on a single point? So far ive been closing my eyes in order to help me relax and block out my surroundings. But ive noticed that closing my eyes may also allow my mind to wander more.

Also, when im forming a ki ball or doing any other technique that requires energy, where should i draw that energy from? From myself, or from my surroundings? I read on another site that when first starting out you should'nt draw energy from yourself as you will not have nearly enough to form or do anything significant. Is this true? And if so, how would i go about drawing energy from around me? When i form a ki ball i try to gather my ki in my center and then flow it up my chest, through my shoulders, and down my arms into my hands. If i lack the neccessary levels of energy due to my inexperience this could explain why i keep loosing ki control and having my ki balls dissapate. And does this mean that the amount of energy i posses and am able to control will increase as my abilities improve, or is there something else i would have to do to increase my energy?

i usually draw in from my surroundings and when i do it i don't focus on exactly where it's coming from. I draw in from my feet and hands, drawing the energy through my body, performing a complete head to toe circuit (beginning in my feet and hands, moving up the limbs, through the abdomen and chest, along the neck and scalp, and down the spine), but at the end of the direction of flow i store the energy in my sub-navel chakra. (The major storage center of raw vital energy or "ki" located just below the navel and two inches inside the body)

Regular practice of this method will allow you access to greater levels of energy from sub-navel chakra and also better control over the energy. However, significant increases in energy levels can take months, as early practice uses more energy than the later ones, leaving less to be stored away.

I must credit this method to Robert Bruce, writer of "Astral Dynamics - A NEW Approach to Out-of-Body Experiences". I also recommend this book, which you may be able to find on this site, as it contains some good energy building techniques and also a chapter called "Taming the Mind".

I've found that spiritual development often involves a lot of reading and research.

Good luck

Thats very helpfull. So i just draw the energy from around me and store it in my center? I dont mind if it takes months to build my energy, i never expected this training to be quick or easy. Besides, the easy is rarely ever the right way. Ill keep up my training and continue to post my findings as i progress.

And ill deffinately look into that book "Astral Dynamics". Ive also noticed that theres alot more reading and study involved than i ever expected. I always thought information on these abilities was scarce and abstract at best, i never expected to find such a large well of usefull information. Will this book answer my previous question of closed vs. open eyes durring meditation? Im getting better at taming my ADD and focusing my mind, but are still random thoughts that flicker in and out randomly.

i just looked through it and he's pro-closed eyes. It will allow you to relax more and enter a deeper trance state, but i still am unsure as to whether or not YOU should close your eyes. If you find that you can keep focused with your eyes closed, then by all means proceed in doing so. However, if it helps your focus you can keep your eyes open.

Pleasant studies
