So many quartz, so little time!
I recently read that Lingam stones are "cryptocrystalline quartz" which kind of blew my mind. I had no idea they were quartz, I mean. They just don't 'look' like it. I guess its mostly 'Jasper' and various impurities and its only 'Earth made' in 1 place in the world: the Narmada River in India.
I have recently been having them show up unassumingly in my dreams and I happened to purchase one at a 'new agey' type store and its sitting at the top of my 'stuff I like to look at and touch' shelf(pseudo-altar without overt religious connotation basically - theres Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Wicca, etc. items up there, and just trinkets I am 'drawn to' as well.).
They look like this, each one is unique(this is not mine):

Apart from anthropomorphic images of Shiva, the worship of Shiva in the form of a lingam, or linga, is also important...
a aniconic representation of the Hindu deity Shiva...
Shiva also means "one in whom the whole creation sleeps after dissolution"...
Linga also means the same thing—a place where created objects get dissolved during the disintegration of the created universe. Since, according to Hinduism, it is the same god that creates, sustains and withdraws the universe...
Yoni is the Sanskrit word for female genitalia, the source of all life. Its counterpart is the lingam, the phallus... |
Anyone have more information or personal experience with this amazing stone? |
