This usually takes me about 15 minutes to explain verbally to the few I have explained it to, so I'm very sorry that it is long but it's rather important. I also apologize for anything that is difficult to read, I am using my iPod which is incredibly hard to type with.
I never really though it possible that I could be anything beyond sensitive until knead talking to my boyfriend about a few paranormal experiences I have had l, he actually suggested that I am potentially psychic. I have had a few experiences and I have noticed that they have become more frequent as I have gotten older, I am now 17.
My earliest experience that is notable happened shortly after I moved into the house I am currently living in. It is a new house. Our front door had been locked and it is a deadbolt lock, I walked by it and it was wide open in the middle of winter. No one was in the house. About a year later I was in bed just hanging out and I saw what seemed to be the apparition of a red woman, I then felt like she influenced my mind and in my vision she screamed and clawed me to death. I saw her perfectly but in the third person. A few weeks later I had a friend over and we were under the stairs for whatever reason and she randomly said she didn't want to be in there so we left. I later asked her why an she said there was an evil little girl named Emily in there.
All was rather quiet for about 2 years, my friend had made an occasional mention of the possibility of there being a portal under my stairs but I thought nothing of it.
Over the past few months there has been a man watching me. He stands at the door of the room in which you can go under the stairs and watches me go to my room at night, he then proceeds to watch me sleep and has entered one of my dreams. One night about 2 weeks ago I came home late, everyone was sleeping, I had this awfull feeling that going downstairs was a bad thing, my room is downstairs, I then heard a man sneeze. I didn't recognize the voice so I went upstairs and grabbed a metal flashlight to defend myself with, went in my room, locked ad barocated my door and listened. An hour later I heard a mans voice laughing, it came from everywhere but at the same time it was muffled and sounded like it was coming from under the stairs. I didn't sleep for a week. Last week I came home, I knew exactly where he was, how he was sitting, what he looked like, his personality, his age, and I didn't even look at it. It was so strange, like a sudden flood of knowledge. My boyfriend who is catholic gave me a rosery and crucifix, he also took me to a priest who gave me holy water and oil, I have been using them and praying, even though I don't believe in god.
Also, a while back I saw a man, he was crossing the street. I wad the only one who breaked for him, it was strange, and I didn't see him in my rear view mirror.
I am posting this because I don't know what to think. I don't know if in psychic and j don't know how to handle whatever is in my home. Please help me.

My first impression of your situation is that the house is connected with psychic turbulence or somekind of vortex like a faultline of an earthquake .
So you may not be psychic persay , but have become sensitive or tuned into paranormal events of the house . I didnt see any mention of personal psychic experiences outside the house .

As for protection , you may not have the psychic strength to block them , but you can do meditations where their attacks pass right thru you . Eventually you might have to face them , tell them that they are dead and it is time to move on , and that this is your house . Perhaps a white candle will offer some protection .

Also to let you know , this is your typical bully situation , so when you counter them , they may step up their attacks as an intimidation tactic .

I would also suggest contacting the coast to coast website and doing searches for ghosts , spirits , ghostbusting, etc
You could also check out some books at amazon.com about psychic defense . A third option is meetup.com for a local paranormal group , who might be able to help . You could also check out joshuapwarren.com for info .

Wow, so firstly I am going to have to say that your situation is obviously not a particularly pleasant sounding one. There isn't really enough information to help confirm whether or not you are indeed psychic/sensitive. I've been in a somewhat similar situation with an old friend of mine's house. If you feel that it's a portal in your house causing this then that's your best bet on why these events are occurring. merlinswingman has some of the soundest advice you could receive and i would also like to add that you should not be afraid to assert yourself, it is your house after all. Remain strong and learn how to deal with this situation with a proactive approach.
