|
|
Does magick require belief and won't work without belief, or even without help of Deity or spirits? Or is it technology, as Kabbala's red string, that doesn't require believing and should work as long as you fulfill the set of conditions?
I did a lot of research on this topic, and opinions differ. What your research told you? Or just stick to one of opinions, what seems more acceptable for you? It seems pretty pointless to pursue the incorrect assumption, because magick will not work at all.
I see it as a one one of pillars in studying and practicing magick.
Thanks,
It's Me. |

Belief in magick is an essential ingredient to success. Belief by itself is an actual ingredient to anything you want to be successful in.
Don't worry about incorrect assumptions.. You'll be wasting your time and life trying to figure things out. You need to get your feet wet without fear.
That is the only way. |

hmm, that's an interesting stance to ask... is it a matter of belief or is it a set standard of rules that are needed to invoke the effect that just need the conditions met...
Well i can see the arguments for both sides... but it's more like this : if it was just like a scientific process then it would long be a matter of every day life for everyone as it would be easily shown and reproduced by everyone, fine tuned by decades or centuries of practice and experimentation, something well known by everyone and even a part of student curriculum.
But, if it was just a matter of belief or of divine beings/spirits then only those with belief in those beings may practice magick...
Neither of which are the case. Case in point, when you discover you able to do something magickally that you did by accident...
So for me, I say this : There's a reason to why it's referred to as an Art |

Very good thoughts Caerdon.
Thanks for sharing your views.
It really is an Art which is learnt by experience. |

belief, trust, faith or whatever you call it,i've found to be essential.one sure fire way to cultivate belief in anything is,decide what belief you want to have.then go out and find evidence to support that belief.at first, your mind might resist this by saying things like "what a load of crock!" but eventually the new belief will be so ingrained in you as to be self evident.if i wanted to do so,and i could see the benefits of doing so,i could cultivate a belief that the world is flat, using this method.fear is the opposite of belief.or is it??fear is trust in a belief you don't like.feel free to change it.fear and belief are not empirical.have fun:) |
