|

Hi! not sure if this is a suitable post but...what is the best way of reducing the amount of sleep you need? i don't mean for a night or two.
i currently need to get a good 8 hrs or i feel rotten the next day - but there's not enough hours in the day for me! I've heard of many people who function perfectly well on 4-5 hours a night average.
could i do this easily with self-hypnosis?
any feedback would be much appreciated.

theres hypnosis tapes available which if used on a regular basis may let you get 4 hours sleep
i tried it once... consisted of not much more than relaxing and repeating a few things over and over... ehh
but consider why you would actually want less sleep... your body knows how much it needs to be fully re-energized in order to operate at maximum efficiency... i also find my more profound and vivid dreams occuring in the later R.E.M cycles of sleep
if you feel rotten after a power sleep (3-4 hours) then i guess you can try to just keep the blood and brain flowing... focus on having unlimited energy... re-engergize by doing tibetian energy rejuvination excersizes, pranic breathing or sungazing... or eat a more balanced and lighter diet that would put less strain on your nervous system...
the easiest way though, would be to just organize your awake time better and more efficiently and get in your 8 hours |

| My cousin taught himself to get by with only four hours of sleep. Even though this works for him I believe at some point his body will give in and just sleep and sleep. I've done that for two weeks sleep for only five hours a day sometimes three. Once your body gets used to it, it becomes easier to do. However, like I said at some point your body will give in maybe just once to replenish itself. Then if you want repeat the process. |

thanx for your feedback everyone
raspliffarian, can you remember the names of any of the tapes you mentioned, or the hypnotists? did the tapes reduce sleep permanently or for that night? were there any adverse side effects?
I'm a stressed post grad student, my studies take up nearly all my time. if i could sleep less, i could have more time for the things I enjoy.
but I've been doing some extra research and it seems sleep reduction may indeed have adverse side effects, i may just have to struggle on

www.thejerricoeffect.com has a really good one, in your order mention jacky_ligthfoot sent ya |
