I have read the sticky on Protection and something caught my attention (more than the rest of it Razz

!)

SOUL PURPOSE. Ok, I'm beginning to think maybe I was led to this forum because I'm in the state of total confusion as to my soul purpose and have been thinking about this for the past few months.

It probably doesn't help that I'm 40, realizing that about half of my life is over and I have not really achieved anything, and maybe I'm just going through a middle age crisis. Maybe I should just go and find myself a dashing 20 yr old, buy a sports car and have an affair Shocked

. Yes, I am kidding.

But here goes: I didn't get to marry the love of my life. I have special abilities and talents when it comes to animals and especially horses, yet I was never in a position (financially or time wise) to utilize them or to be able (financially) to have them so I could continue learning and improving my abilities. I also have some special artistic abilities (confirmed by a couple of judged shows) yet I do not have time to pursue them and do something meaningful with them. So here goes another wasted talent.

I have two kids and feel like the worst mother in the world at this time. They are out of control on some days and I just don't know what we (myself and DH) are doing wrong.

In other words, I watch other people and it seems when they have a special ability, something comes along in their lives, a "conicidence" or whatever you want to call it, to enable them to pursue that endeavor. Do you know what I mean? Nothing like that ever happens to me, which leaves me to wonder, first of all, why were these talents given to me when all I can do with them is be aware of them but waste them just the same. Or, if it does happen, I am not given the resources to be able to do that, like time. What is the true purpose of my soul in this life? I must be doing something wrong to feel so lost and "purposeless". Some days I feel like maybe my purpose in this life is just to enable another soul to do their learning. But if that's true, then why was I given these special abilities? Just to tease me?!

Sorry, this started sounding like whining. I don't mean it to. I'm just frustrated and confused and I hate being in that state, especially at the age of 40! I like to know where I'm going.

So, what do you guys think? Am I just experiencing a female mid-life crisis or is there something i'm missing? And I must add, I am very good at missing hints, maybe that's the problem. Though I do find most such "hints" are so fricken subtle and ambiguous I don't know how anyone can "get" them.

Your soul purpose...? Just think of what you really enjoyed doing as a child...that is usually a good hint

You already know what your soul purpose is. Ask your Guide and your God to help you make the time. Suggestion? Baby steps - just take a little time every day to pursue your dream - the more time you invest, the more time you'll have - it's going to be ok.

I am trying to do what I enjoyed doing as a child. In fact, I came back to it after a long break. But now I find every time I try to do it, LIFE just gets in the way. There are problems with kids, not enough time, too tired, too stressed out. It feels that every time I take a step forward, something else happens and I have to take two steps back.

I am NOT giving up in any way, just getting frustrated and tired of constantly fighting for it.

I have been asking for time or whatever "resources" I need (like getting enough sleep LOL). But they are not coming. Hence my confusion and frustration.

you may be on to something, but then again, I'd have to "re-memorize" pretty much my whole life. That's hard to do.

your right I was lucky to have figured out that i'm a tarot reader through a bad marriage. Think about this, the fact that your even able to question what is or isn't going on in your life leads me to believe that your greatest purpose is higher learning. Maybe you need to start off slow and acquire some books on what interests you most. If you do not know what you wish to study just do what I do. I stand in front of the books and allow my guides to pick a subject for me to study. Hope this helps you.

Indeed, I do have some books that I have already acquired over the years and I guess I should start reading them. I also feel pulled in the direction of Reiki healing and even know of a good place that offers a course close to me, but, as usual, time and money, or rather their lack, steps in. Should I just assume I need to wait a little longer? Maybe it's not the right time yet?

I guess I should sit down and try to figure out exactly which past memories affect my present. Or, as I said above, accept that maybe I"m just rushing and need to wait a bit more. In fact, I just had a Eureka moment. Idea

Honestly... You see, many times in my life, I end up taking on too much because I'm so eager to learn and "do". And then realize I've got too much on my plate. I'm at that point again in my life. Maybe the major lesson at this time is to take only as much as I handle and that things happen in their own time... I need to do some more thinking on this but thanks for leading me in this direction!

Hi Selena,
Your post resonates with me so much. I, too, feel like I have all kinds of talent and ideas and I never seem to get the "lucky" breaks that I see other people getting, where they fall into great paying jobs that utilize their talents, they seem to have enough money to study what they want and travel where they want, etc.

If you don't mind, I'll just talk through some stuff I've been thinking about myself that relates to this and some understandings that are peeking through for me, and they may or may not relate to your problem.

I was recently talking to a friend and I said, "Lack of money defines me." And then I hated that it was true--it was an epiphany moment for me. But then I journaled and tried to figure out what it is I'd want to define me, if I had my choice. I decided I wanted to be defined as creative, dedicated, smart and fun. And believe me, I'm not much fun when I'm sad and discouraged about the money I don't have! So this revelation gave me something to think about.

As to not being able to explore your talents, I've always thought that if I wanted to do something badly enough, I'd figure out a way regardless of money. I saw a movie once where this woman carefully unwrapped a present she'd gotten so that she could save the wrapping paper and draw on the back. She was so poor she couldn't even buy paper, but she found a way. I think many artistic skills are like that. If we can't afford a class, we could look online or check books out of the library, or offer to assist someone for free in exchange for their mentorship. But it's really a motivational problem on our part rather than a lack of money.

I think lack of money is, for me, a convenient excuse. People will also suggest fear of success as an underlying issue, but I don't know that I buy that, either. Maybe it's fear that I don't have something creative to say/express. That I'll put myself out there and think I'm fabulous, but the world will yawn and not notice.

I'm sorry about your kids. I don't have any of my own but I've heard if you take care of yourself first you're in a better spot to give to them. Kind of like putting on your own air mask first with the plane cabin depressurizes.

Weirdly enough, I just proposed a class to my local rec department thinking that I wouldn't make much money but it'd be something I'd like to try teaching, and it turns out it may actually be quite lucrative. I liked the vibe of that. The saying, "Do what you love and the money will follow" is too trite for my way of thinking, but I like the way this class is shaping up. I want to embrace people paying fair prices for services they want or need and see it as a win/win where we both come away happy.

Just establish a relaxed/trance like state and slowly elevate your perspective from you inside your body, to you outside, to you watching your body from the cieling and untill your world is like a picture hanging on a wall of light...Turn around and see what happens.

I've done this myself, except I imagined myself in a tube of light. I found two beings, one an angel (rather a highly advanced sentience, it didn't have wings...Just was a ball of light) and another who apparently was someone I knew in another life. We gave each other a hug, and I gave them permission to help me get to where I need to be in life (sometimes things won't fall into place for us and our attitude could nullify their help...We have to believe they exist and be open to the prospect of good things happening. Give them a formal "permission" to help you, because they can't defeat free-will.) I asked them about the future and my possible path's...Then I was shown a future life Very Happy

I recieved a lot of usefull insight. You should try. Very Happy

Another usefull thing to do is imagine just segment's of 2005, interesting things that happened, important event's in your life. Then Imagine up to now, and continue down a couple years...See what unravel's. For example you could imagine taking an art class and exploring your potential as an artist, see if you would like it, if you would be successful or just move on to something else...Imagine your social life, what new people you will meet in the future, when and where you will find your next love...Stuff like that. You can do anything with your mind, we have enormous potential that we can learn to harness through method's like this.
