Hi,

I have been interested in gaining spiritual knowledge for a long time. I am not like those lucky or unlucky people (depending on your perspective) who seem to have been born with a psychic gift. I am led to understand that people without any gift through hard work can achieve 'something' through one of many paths.

But this is were the confusion begins....I have in the past had close connections with a Taoist who was taught spiritual arts (& martial arts) within an 'indoor lineage'. I have read most of Carlos Casteneda texts, a course in miracles, zen stuff, kundalini yoga and recently western magic and some really scary stuff called vodoun (real voodoo), Seth material etc etc etc etc etc

The problem is ....it's insanely difficult !!! This really cannot be disputed ...If you listen to any REAL practitioner, you will see the path is almost impossible to tread!!!! The discipline and development of abilities requires almost inhuman commitment and concentration.

To become a Magus, a Taoist priest, a real shaman requires the most intense discipline, hours of ritual and prayer, years of meditation, the mastering of astral projection, lucid dreaming and control of intense levels of fear....in many cases your entire being is in harms way... Your life is at risk, especially if you have no master and you are dabbling with certain forces without having first mastered every aspect of your own mind.

These are the ways of ancient pantheons, god s before Christ that according to them have been personified as evil by the Christian church. These Gods are said to be balanced not EVIL. They have the power to destroy and to heal. Black magicians say they explore the light and the dark in themselves in order to achieve a balance of the duality of nature and use the universe to achieve their own desires and become like gods.

Mysticism sort of requires very little but an intellectual shift and change in your heart to except the real teaching of Christ....Christ consciousness was given to us by Christ in the form of the Holy Spirit which resides in us and anything else is really the 'carnal mind' which must 'die every day'. This kind of mysticism does require changes in behaviour and world view and a form of self analysis, but does not seem half as difficult as the ancient pantheons of Magick , shamanism etc. But then is this too easy....

The problem is the ancient pantheons say the only way to ascend is to cross the abyss ...the highest achievement for a magus...to face the demon choronzon and to banish him, to achieve the guardian angel communication and at last have control of the world and ones TRUE WILL etc etc etc. E.g. Casteneda is warned by Don Yuan that unless one masters the dimensions and builds a great deal of energy at the moment of death the 'average man' is consumed by 'the great eagle'. Buddhism requires similar to get out of the cycle of death and rebirth.

The opposite is the mystics who say accept the christ consciousness within yourself and you will enter the kingdom of heaven ...

..surely the process would be natural and easier......Unless you have developed into a superhuman ...the bouncer says...m8 your names not down and your not getting in !! ..Come back after 100000 more lifetimes....this I have a problem with....

Spiritual thoughts that enter into conscious minds are sometimes referred to as Christ Consciousness. It is an awareness of the higher self as part of a higher universal system. Christ Consciousness is a state of mind; it is an understanding that there is a universal and omnipresent force everywhere, and connecting with this higher power.

Consciousness can flow into a person, if there is the will and capacity to receive it, the ability to maintain it, and the understanding to nurture it. The idea is to find the spiritual way, whether this be assisted by religious beliefs, mentors or by inner reflection. The aim is for people to become more loving, compassionate, tolerant, patient, forgiving, understanding by following a new way of conscious thinking.
