Well A most popular is the Famous and yes extreamly known Goetia Spirits/ Demons. You can learn of them they are known as evil spirits more than demons but yes they might be what your looking for

Demons is a very limiting topic......perhaps to find the knowledge you seek try broadening your focus.....some alchemist writtings get into "demons" ....nephilim is another commen term in which i know there is tons of babbel on the internet.......also you could look at a lot of renaissance magick and occult philosophy texts......

but these are only the goetia, and by the way, Demons aren't "evil", they are not "evil", but "evil" to the ones that things their "evil". The Goetia demons are the elder gods and are not in any way "evil".

Demons are termed evil because they represent and can manifest the cardinal sins such as lust, greed, etc. From this you can see that it was the churches that termed them evil.

The study of demons, if being done for summoning purposes, should begin with the writings of Dr. John Dee. Almost all general rules that apply to trafficking with angels are also applicable to evoking demons. Both are acts that penetrate realms of existence to send and receive energy, the only thing that differs is the choice in symbolic materials during the ritual.
Also, a study of the egyptian pantheon should be done as well, as many of the supernals that appear in either religion coincide with one another. It is also believed the nordic pantheon and greco-roman pantheon do as well but it is less grounded.
The study of demons is an ambiguous one due to the specific subjective morality that concerns these supernals. They frequently represent man acting on instinct, however there are demons of peace and love as well. Because of this personal study from many sources is required to sift through personal bias and religious propaganda. Even those with a purposely abstract approach to demons have their bias, so read lots, and find the unbiased recurring facts to determine definites concerning them.

In my experience the lesser demons are malicious and petty. Causing trouble on a small scale (which might not feel so small at the time). They often inhabit or influence people who have authority of some sort. Such as bosses or managers, people of that sort.
On the positive side you can access their names on the astral plane and you don't need to be able to pronounce those names or even spell them here.
However you do need enough experience accessing the astral plane (however you chose to do so) that you can send part of yourself there to hang on to or access this name at will.

The greater demons/spirits are entirely different. I've never seen one them inhabit someone for instance. As just one of the differences.

doesn't the word, "demon" have its origin in Christian and Hebrew biblical meanings?

i'm thinking in terms of word origin, and since Christianity was the main antagonist in suppressing much of the Old Religions, the redirection of the masses towards Christian faith had its icon.

i need clarification in this
