When we reach adulthood, we come to believe we have left our childhood behind. This is not true. We may bury the memories of those times under the trials and tribulations we stepped in and walked through, but the years of our youth are just as must a part of our lives today as then. These were the impressionable years. Years which we attached ideas, opinions and began to institute our beliefs. What did you tell yourself, and what event occurred for you as the child that set you upon the path you now walk, and teach your off-springs by demonstration that will set their destiny? .
Those years from the cradle to adulthood are the years when demonstration is more the teacher than books or spoken words. It is no different for a child then it is for a man or woman. Those formidable years of our childhood laid the foundation of "as a man thinkest in his heart, so is he" which now impress our children to determine.
Regardless of what we see, hear, touch, taste, smell, think, and those impression yet to enter our minds, we should always remember the children are watching, or listening to us to see how we handle and come through a situation, or condition, or circumstance. And whether we believe it or not, we are our brothers keeper, for it was our brothers whose attitudes played upon our minds, and gave us direction, whether it was good or bad.
The example we set in life is always for the betterment or devastation of impressions set in the minds of our children. |
