| Hi. As a teenager I read a book called "unlocking your psychic powers" by Joseph J. Weed. It had a different way of thinking about this stuff than most any philosophy that I have ever come across. I'm not sure if any of it is true, but it was a very interesting book nonetheless. the basic philosophy was that your body is as a battery for psychic power and that you can do things to charge that battery or to discharge the battery. It had a lot of breathing exercises and so forth that I used as a youth and some of it seemed to work. Might be worth looking in to. |

The body naturally produces the energy that is thought of as ‘psychic’ and breathing exercises to increase that energy are not uncommon. An ‘excess’ of this energy that is not directed can cause interesting phenomena. For example, a home with a child going through puberty is often the scene of poltergeist activity that results from the excess energies produced while the hormone changes are being brought under balance.
There are also foods and drinks that can produce an abundance of energy as well as substances both natural and man-made that can create ‘leaks’ in the protective paradigm. |

Great name!
I'm not sure if this is what you're after but I guarantee you'll learn alot and be entertained at the same time. Talk about "lesser known gems"!  Dion Fortune. Any of her so-called 'fiction' books (that were based on actual personal cases/experiences) will give the reader great clues and insights into multiple levels. They're old and so the language is a bit different, but the stories and the occult truths in them are really great IMO. She's written many books on the occult plus her 'fiction' books which aren't fiction at all by her own admission. Here's a few to look over if they speak to you at all.
1) Psychic Self Defence (non-fiction, first published in 1930 in Great Britain)
2) Secrets Of Doctor Taverner ('fiction')
3) Moon Magic ('fiction')
4) The Sea Priestess ('fiction')
5) The Deamon Lover ('fiction')
6) Practical Occultism In Daily Life (non-fiction)
7) The Training And Work Of An Initiate (non-fiction)
There's many more but do a search on Dion Fortune and her books. Don't be fooled because they're so old! It's all there in her many great books.  |
