This is actually a fascinating subject.
Ive noticed it in ALOT of flicks myself..
Powder is definitely one of them (earth moving film actually).
And in X-men, you see the same result of human evolution. It's a favorite of mine, and the little 'un's...
Lord of the Rings definitely. What was that line... when Bilbo had thrown his party and the flying dragon kind caught fire, and someone screamed 'Dragon', then Bilbo (I think it was Bilbo) said 'Dragon? There hasn't been a Dragon in these parts for thousand years..."
Which was quite the biblical reference (revelations). But Jrr.Tolkien was very Christian if I remember correctly. A Christian mystic.
Then you have the regular messages that are nonetheless potent, like Willy Wonka's 'spoiled children theme (thanks Doctor Spock- you've encouraged parents to be petrified of their children and treat them as if they were made of glas-now half of them are spoiled and afraid to exert any of their own effort- which does loads for their creativity -sarcasm-...) was timely in the original, and is once again timely in the remake (which was also such a good viewing).
Films are ruled by Neptune though ( a very spiritual planet) so its no wonder. It does relay messages in the form of images (in the least), to the collective unconscious.
For this reason, my son (though I don't believe in censoring, typically), is guided to movies that have a stronger and more life-affirming message. All those random chaos messages in some flicks are just too much for anyone's brain, let alone a child...( I realize this may very old biddy-like of me but seriously...)
This is an excellent topic, and very enjoyable.

XMEN ROCKS! and yes, it talks about human evolution and the psychiq powers...
Martin Myster (cartoon) of course is just like Mystical Wonders I mean it has all of the topics included here...
OH YES! A song in spanish named "Desde mi cielo", by Mago de Oz: it talks about the afterlife: A guy who had a girlfriend; he died and now he expresses how much he loves her, and all the things they did, stuff like that. He also asks her to fall in love again, and that he would be taking care of her from heaven. In a part it says something like this:
"I live each time you talk about me, and I die again when you cry. Now I have learned to be free, and I am happy" ...
I really love this song
