I wouldn't know too much about beast magic but I am familiar with a simple wishing spell.

Take a bay leaf, on the underside write your wish, don't just write it think it while doing so. Then burn the leaf until it is nothing but ashes. The burnt leaf is an offering to the Ancestors (and it does smell kind of plesant).

Can you elaborate on Beast magic. Are you referring to power over beasts using Vodoo? Or Shapeshifting? I'm not to aquainted with Vodoo practices, but I've had some bizarre mental shapeshifting experiences.
