The Native American Traditions!
By Dr Joshua David Stone

The Native American culture and tradition is a very beautiful one. One of the key elements that probably stands out more than any other in the mystery school of the Native Americans is their love, reverence, and respect for Mother Earth and the animal kingdom!

They realize and treat all living beings, including man, animal, plant, and rock as aspects of the Divine, interconnected, and one! There are many aspects or splinters within the Native American tradition, however, their focus on the Mother Earth and unity with all living beings is an underlying theme which unites all of them!

Another unifying theme within the Native American mystery school is the performance of various rites and rituals such as rituals focused on purifying the spirit as well as deeper union and realization of the nature that abounds! Since their focus and path is of a more mystical nature, they frequently seek to consciously connect and Spiritually commune with their overlighting Spirits!

Also common among Native Americans is what is called “Vision Quest!” This is a ceremonial experience during which usually boys cleanse their physical bodies and minds through a sweat lodge or Inipi as well as fasting to prepare for deep meditation, prayer, and union with the Great Spirit. Usually lasts for about 2 or 3 days during which the Native American does not sleep but remains in prayer and union. The goal and purpose of a Vision Quest is for the seeker to receive a vision of the Divine which shall serve as guiding force in later life!
