How many can or should you do in a day?
Does anyone think it matters?
I would think no more than 1 a day, and it's not like most people would be doing it everyday, but I'm just curiuos.

I myself do numerous spells in a day... at least twenty or so.

As for rituals, I do only one whenever I absolutely need it. Most of everything can be accomplished with an "improvised" spell.

Although, a ritual can be helpful, but I suggest only doing them when necessary. Doing rituals in excess can be draining, or so I hear.

As for a recommended amount of spells a day, it depends on if you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced "caster".

If you are a beginner, like the way I was a couple years ago (I progress quickly ^_^), I'd limit myself to a number you identify with that is under ten. I did three or seven spells a day at first.

When I became an intermediate caster, I increased it by three, so it was about six to ten spells a day. This was because I felt more confident and more powerful.

Finally, when I became somewhat of an advanced caster (somewhat, as my power fluctuates like crazy these days), I doubled the amount of minimum spells. So it became twelve to twenty minimum. This is because I am getting extremely confident with myself.

However, like I said, I rarely do rituals, because they seem to A.) take too long, and B.) be too complicated. The most complicated ritual I've done this year required heavy visualization, running water (i.e. a shower), words of power, an assistant, and for me to be "skyclad" (naked in other words). It was a ritual to bless my apprentice in Indiana with power, since she seemed to be rather weak for quite a while. True, she hasn't resumed her practices since school got out (for her), but I have a feeling she will really soon.

And this ritual was improvised as well...

Well, what I'm saying is just recommendations. You should just go with what feels right. That goes for everything, from how many spells you cast a day, to what types they are. Do what you want, as long as it benefits you, is one of my creeds.

Then again, I'm a hedonist ^_^

Whats your method for performing quick and effiicient spells during the day?

It's a method I developed based off of forcecraft called "improv magic". You utter a word or two related to some sort of effect, concentrate on your intent, throw in a few subtle gestures, and voila, spell.

I often find myself using some of the same words often.

Like for example, ignis potens and thinking of fire while acting like you are holding a ball = etheric fireball that feels pretty damn hot. I use that very often and throw them at deserving pests or an occasional demon.

Frankly, I don't know. I'm 100% self taught. So, I'm not familiar with "mainstream" terms.
