Alright, it isn't often I share something with both non-apprentices and people who don't read my blog (granted, the blog just went up today >.>), but I feel like sharing a technique. I'm not sure if it goes here, but whatever.

I call it "Seeker Ball", and it is a spell/energy manipulation method that works as both an ethereal bloodhound and a tracking device.

Okay, here's how it works.

Some comments -

Usually when this technique is used, you will automatically follow the direction the ball is going. It takes control of you.

Certain entities, like most fae, and anything related to antimagic, will cause this technique to go haywire.

Do not track demons or ghosts with this until you are confident in it's success.

Modifying it is possible, but not recommended, as this is the optimized "program."

"Anchoring" it to a gesture and the words "seeker ball" is recommended. A cupping of one hand is the best gesture.

Sounds interesting. I'll have to try it. A quick question, though: can it be used to find things as well as people, and if so, what adjustments, if any, should I make in the technique? I ask because I have need to find things more often than I have need to find people.

When used properly, it can find anyone or anything. Do not modify the technique, as that will cause some instability, in an explosive way. I tried modifying it in one life and it blew up in my face.

Also, do not use it to find fae, or use it around fae. It will not work then, and in fact will instead wander around on it's own accord like it has intelligence, with you following it unwillingly. I know this because I cast it near a pixie, and I was wandering around Walmart with a confused look on my face for 10 minutes before stumbling upon the person I was looking for, who just happened to be the one who manages my money.

I don't know what causes that, but it's probably something that cannot be corrected without making an entirely new spell.

supposing I was in the town where I thought a friend lived, and I used this technique to try & find them... but it turned out they were on holiday abroad or something? would I be drawn to the airport & potentially a plane to where they were or would I realize?

I haven't in this lifetime tried it for long distance seekings, so go on and try it.

And the blog you are referring to is under construction, but you can look at what is up so far at http://compendium-arcana.blogspot.com/. Do be warned, that unless you are into some of the stuff I'm into, it will seem fluffy. But nothing there is fluff.

Ok. Thanks for the technique. I'll try it unmodified.

Is there any way to tell if fae are nearby? I can't see them (or maybe I do. Who knows what we really see?) and want to avoid any problems that can be avoided.

The easiest way to find out is to ask your spirit guide or guides if there are any fae around you.

Strangely, one of my guides is a fairy and this spell still works, so I'm guessing there are exceptions.

I was just wondering...as someone who is inexperienced to what things are....who or what are fae?
also in regard to spirit guides....how do we communicate with our spirit guides. can we just talk to them as we would a person or is there a specific technique we should use?
