Does anyone know any crystals and their usage for protection for one person or and entire group? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The only crystal I know that has some potential for protection is quartz, but for it to be used, it has to be programmed.

To program quartz, one needs to first purify the crystal, usually with salt water, then tell the quartz what you want it to protect you from, then keep it on your person.

I haven't worked wwith crystals in a while, but i believe that tourmaline, quartz and malachite are the best in terms of general protection. Cat's eye protects the owner primarily from envious people, and I think Carnelian was supposed to be one of the more powerful protective/healing crystals.

Yeah, that's more than I knew. I don't work with crystals at all. I don't even use physical components for most of my magic, because I can't.

Alright, I'm going to try that quartz soon for fun. I think salt can be used for grounding, so, I'm taking a drink of saltwater next. Is this toumaline expensive or a rare material? I might try that one too... thanks for the info.

My favorites for protection have been black obsidian and/or tiger eye.

Black tourmaline is my favourite but sometimes the energy can get heavy, so I alternate with selenite.
Tiger eye is also great for protection, I love that stone, it has such a nice feeling.

Quartz doesn't necessarily have to be programmed, but it does help if you are using it only for protection. What exactly are you protecting yourself from? Physical things, other people, demons, etc.?

One of my favourite stones for protection is :

Chiastalite, which used to be carried in days of old as protection from dark powers....

Always a good stone to carry if you suspect anything amis is around you.

If you're looking for a crystal for protection Black Touraline, Smokey Quartz and Hematite spring to mind. These are all grounding stones too.

An interesting choice for stones of protection as I personally would use those stones for dealing with issues of darkness actually in someone, to be used at the same time as Stibnite over the heart chakra as Stibnite has a very very high vibrational frequency.

So, those stones are for dealing with issues in someone, rather than actual protection for deflection of dark energy....
