A friend is writing an essay on the relationship between the form and function of a place: does a town have to be designed in relation to the environment in which it is located or can the human use of the place alone define the town's value?
One aspect that has come up a couple of times is that of sacred geometry. Amazingly enough Milton Keynes had sacred geometrical aspects built into the design and after having a quick look on Google Maps I can really see that that fact is true! Couldn't quite believe that I was seeing cursus-like circles and woodhenge-like layouts in the middle of a man-made park by the lake.

I'm sure many ancient ruins/civilisations used sacred geometry (and astrological knowledge), and the origins of Freemasonry were involved in using this knowledge too. So any place with those influences may have a lot of sacred geomerty design ..... would be worth looking into.
Wouldn't it be great to create our own towns/cities like this from scratch?
