|
|
Okay, so I'm a child with psychic powers. Some days they are greatly focused, as in I can control different things, read people's thoughts, (only a little bit though.) help people with fortunes, and other stuff. But here's the problem, these days only come every so often! Some days my powers will seriously be really crappy, and other days I feel like Merlin or something. I need a good way to focus these! Does anyone know any exercises or rituals (that don't involve any items a 13 year old can't obtain) that would help me to focus these powers? And for those days that I have where my powers are overflowing, I need something to contain them. Ring? Necklace? Etc.. and I also need to know how to send a curse that is in a person into an inanimate object. And I have NO idea what element I have naturally, sometimes I'm better with fire, sometimes air, sometimes earth or water or light or dark and ALOT others. I really am confused and need a lot of help! |

It's tough trying to learn all this stuff on your own. It's probably even harder being 13.
Have you ever played Brain Age or some similar video game? It's helpful to keep the brain sharp, but even if you play regularly, you'll have up days and down days, but you'll still steadily improve. Your progress will be kind of zig-zag but still upward.
Concentration exercises might also help you out. Just learning to get the brain to focus on what you want for an extended period of time is a learning process but it pays off. Here are some okay ones:
http://www.successconsciousness.com/index_000005.htm#concentration_exercises
And also you could try taking a clock with a moving second hand and just focus solely on the second hand. If you look at anything else for any reason, start over. Your goal at first is one minute. When you can do one minute, your next goal is two. When you can do two, go for five. When you can do 5, go for ten. When you ten, go for 15, and when you can do 15 you could go for 30 and you could even go up to an hour if you want, but 15 is generally enough. It's a very boring exercise but you'd be surprised how much it helps you focus. If you're in a situation that's already boring, like a hospital waiting room, then you might as well practice.
There are other factors that can go into lack of focus - like not getting enough sleep, bad diet, or even stress. Meditation can help with the stress and maybe even sleep. There are many different ways to meditate, look them up on google or bing.com and see what you like the best. You should meditate a little bit everyday, even if it's just 5 minutes. It'll do wonders for your brain, which will do wonders for your body and overall energy.
Finally, there's a book you can find via google that I recommend to a lot of people called "Initation Into Hermetics" by Franz Bardon. It's a little bit old-timey and hard to follow and there are some typos and errors, but on the whole it's a good book to start out with. You can skip the theory part if it's boring and go right to the practice. The way the book goes into the elemental energy exercises is more intuitive and works great, and he prescribes a more balanced approach than just tuning into one element. There's even one exercise where you use the four classical elements all at once to bring about self-harmony. One of the main lessons the book teaches early on is that if you gather energy for some reason, be sure to send it back when you're done with it. If you ever feel like you have too much some days, the book can help you learn to just let it go.
I wish you well. Be careful who you talk to about this kind of stuff. A lot of people will think you're nuts, and it's not their fault, they just don't know better. Good luck with your progress. |

Wynnd, you type very well for a person of 13 years. It's refreshing to know that some of the Technological Natives like yourself know the difference between 1337/Texting and actual conversation. Unless you're not really 13, that is. Either way, welcome to our group.
Luluwa gives some good advice, although I've only briefly skimmed through Initiation into Hermetics, so I can't tell you much about it, and that website is new to me.
Another tip (and an important one for some folks) is to have a designated work area. This area is for magik and the like only (not reading, sleeping, eating, hanging out, etc.). Any time you want to do work outside of this area, perform a banishing ritual. Also perform some sort of banishing ritual before working on your "off" days. (A banishing ritual is two things: "banishing" to remove any influences that may interfere, and a "ritual", the act of which is meant to focus the mind.)
You also asked about the elements. In palmistry, you look at (not surprisingly) the palms and fingers. Of course, palmistry is not so much a divination as it is an interrogation, so it won't tell you anything the person recieving the reading doesn't already know.
In reality, humans are Fire beings who utilize all five elements in our daily lives. If you don't believe me, take a look at our cells; the process of turning food into energy is the same reaction as a fire, but in slow motion. Of course, we need Earth for our raw materials. We need oxygen (from the Air) to neutralize a particular toxin made by our energy production process. And we need water for many, many purposes, so classifying an individual as a particular element is fallacious.
Still, it is possible to be more adept at manipulating one element than others. Most days, I feel like I can sap the heat out of anything with Pyrokinesis. Others, I feel like moving the earth (my "up" days. . . I have the most success like this), and rarely, I connect with Water.
All in all, magick is a big field, and no matter how much any of us know about it, we still know jack s*** about how it works as a whole. |
