I am very sorry if I post this topic in the wrong place. I tried to find the proper place to post this topic but I couldn't find it, this is the most sensible place for this topic I could find, if this topic is to be moved to another location please send a link of that page to my email or PM. Thank you.

I have the following questions I like to have answers to. I know not all my questions will be answered but even a tip or some trick or pointer that can help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

this is from the Initiation Into Hermetics A Course of Instruction of Magic Theory & Practice by Franz Bardon

Q1: How do you brush your skin so it would turn faintly reddish? My skin doesn’t turn reddish no matter how long I brush it. Is it because I am not white? If that’s the case, then how long do I need to brush my skin, how do I know when is good enough?

Q2: in the morning exercise, it says to rub the body with a rough towel until you feel quite warm; here’s what I don’t get… are we rubbing the body with a rough towel to dry our body after we wash the body with cold water or are we supposed to rub the body with the towel while under running cold water?

Q3: on page 40, it says to wash off evil with soap and then wash with the water impregnated with desire; and dip the face in water for some second, this proceedure is to be repeated at least seven times in one turn. (not the eyebath) OK, I don’t understand this part here. Is it just the dipping the face in water that we need to repeat or is it the whole process from washing with soap through washing with impregnated water to dipping the face? If it’s the whole process that needs to be repeated then how are we supposed to do it? Are we supposed to wash and dry then go back into the tub to wash and dry again few more times?

the next question is from my daily experiences:

Q4: I have been practicing visualization for a very long time now, but I realize all I have been doing were merely daydreaming, and my visualization skill is still not attained. What's wrong with me? Does it have something to do with my diet? What kind of diet do I need to help with visualization? What kind of exercises can help me to improve the skill?

Q5: I have come across the term '7th sense', I don't know what that is, I've only heard of 6th sense. I thought everything other than five senses is consider to be sixth sense, so what is seventh sense? How is it different from sixth sense?

In short any towel will do. So all this is very simple. Just rub your back and body for some time, your skin doesn't need to get glowy or burnish, just so that you know you've done enough. I don't really understand what you mean by the soap to cleanse evil...? what is that all about. Impregnated water I do understand, it doesn't require any visualization much at all, but you can visualize if you have the skill here, but namely just imagine the cold or cool water to drain/remove everything that is unclean about yourself, imagine the water turning black as it runs through you, that should be simple. (just don't let anyone get in contact with it later).

Visualization does differ a bit from daydreaming, because there, you concentrate your mind on holding images / concepts without emotion, without sidetracking or losing focus on what you decide to focus on. In general, to some it is very easy, to some... it is very hard.

Could you explain in detail what you mean by this "7th sense"?

I don't know what that is myself, that's one of the reasons I'm asking. I remember I stumbled across that term '7th sense' somewhere in a post on this forum long time ago. I asked whoever posted it to have that explained but there was no reply. And I couldn't find out more about it.

Thank you for your reply. BTW, would you recommend some good exercises(both mental and/or physical) that can help improve visualization skills? What have you done that you think can be helpful?

Something that can help with visualization is as you hold the object in your minds eye with as much detail as you can manage. Slowly rotate the object so that you have to concentrate on seeing it 3 dimensions. This will help keep the mind from wandering, being a bit more of an active thing rather just passively trying to hold an object or situation static in your mind.
Hope it helps.

thanks for your tips. The 3-D visualization you mentioned seems more advanced than 2-D visualization. Did you start off with this 3-D visualization? I can't even manage to acheive 2-D visualization. I don't think anyone can start off visualizing without going through practicing 2-D first and get a hang of it before trying 3-D. So, what did you do when you first started practicing visualization? How did you practice your visualization when your first started?

There are still some thing I don't get.... Now I get that I don't have to brush my skin glowy or burnish with the brush before the shower, but I still don't know when to rub the body with towel. Do I rub my body while the water is running through me or when I dry my body? According to the book I'm supposed to rub my body with towel until I feel quite warm, but it doesn't clarify when to rub the body.

Um yeah I started with 3D visualization, unless you are just trying to visualize out of a book, life seems to be in 3D. If you are having trouble, try something simple, an apple or a shoe or your favorite toy. Mostly just relax and start practicing. It doesn't matter if you don't get it right the first time, try different things and see what feels right to you. Personally I think it might be difficult to get warm rubbing myself with a towel while in the shower besides being a bit messy. But if you don't know then try both and see what works for you. Smile
