Hello,

I utilize a form of healing not unlike Reiki, and the sacred symbols used to infuse the receiving body with energy are the Hebrew letters for God's name . . . .

Someone told me these symbols are so sacred that we are not meant to commit them to paper, or in ink form in any way.

But I keep having this idea for several years that I should create a tattoo of this on my body, and infuse the ink with the healing power of the prayer itself in the process.

Is it true that we cannot due this with the Hebrew letters? I certain don't want to do anything counterproductive or that would detract from the healing potential.

Thanks.

Personally I think that might be going a bit too far. I'm not Jewish, but in the Jewish faith, tattooing itself is forbidden (somebody correct me if I'm mistaken), so tattooing Hebrew might not be such a good idea. Meditate on it for a while, trying to be as objective as possible, and feel if it would be the right thing for you or not.

Yes, tattoing is forbidden but in the olden days also piercings were considered a sign of slavery to a master, oddly enough. I've known people to tattoo the Hebrew name for God on themselves though because they weren't really Jewish themselves, and usually it was as part of a bigger seal of some kind that already had the name in it.

Whatever floats your boat, though. There are many names for God and one of the reasons they wouldn't put them to paper was because the temples would be taken over by rival tribes from time to time and of course sometimes these places would be burned down, and if there were written works with the name of God on them then they would have blasphemed against his name(s) in destroying these documents.

As for the art of tattooing, there are many ways to look at it, one of them being that you are altering what God gave you, sort of like defacing his property (if you're religious). If you think about it, putting God's name on you would be rather redundant if you're a true believer because everything in Creation already bears His signature.

That's my two cents on the subject, and I could be wrong. Go with whatever feels right to you.

Be careful, you don't want to get stoned to death Shocked

J/K Wink

I don't know but I had to practically tell a jewish girl to shut up & grow up & get over it cuz she got offended because I was wearing a Hexagram & was not Jewish

This people are so narrow minded & so blinded & the jewish phylosophy & cosmology & all those phylosophys that spring from Jewish mystisim it's just :S

That I woulnd't relate to it in anything less alone with a tatoo, now if u want to do it just to piss someone off go rigth ahead lol

But honestly a tatoo made with a machine & ordinary ink Even if it is "god's name" will not bring u any Healing, be reasonable & use your brain. Wink

Well Tata

the jes will not use the holy name of YHWH Yahweh (miss used God) as they say its too sacred, they are wrong, they took the holy name of the scriptures Yahweh (mis used as God) and they took his sons name out Yahoshua (mis used as Jesus) anyone can use his name there is power in the holy names if used correctly, and keeping his law
