Please don't laugh at this.

This event that I am about to describe took place when I was 8 years old. At that age, I attempted to study a lot about paranormal philosophies and theories. I even formed a paranormal club on the playground to discuss these theories (what a weird kid, eh?).

I had read about some things regarding telepathy and I had formed my own theories about nature, so for some reason, I believed that the trees, wind, clouds, and plant life, etc. had intelligence. I had done a few experiments by "using my mind" (even singing them songs) and seemingly gotten actual responses, but none had been fascinating so I did not consider it to be much.

Anyway, I wanted to "spread the word" and get more members to join, so I really did not know what to do. Since I wasn't sure, I went in front of a medium-sized tree on the playground and sat down beside it. I began a "conversation". I asked it, "What should I do to get more people to join?".

It told me a very odd thing: to recite a nursery rhyme three times backwards. It promised that by the end of the rhyme, I would have what I wanted. I recited it to myself while no one was around. By the very last word I had recited, six girls had walked up to me on the playground and asked what I was doing. I promptly pitched the idea of the club to them and they eagerly joined. Embarassed

(I'm not crazy, I swear XD)

After that, I stopped trying to "be one with nature". I had been scared and I felt too much of a weirdo.

So has anyone else had something bizarre happen to them concerning nature?

people can be very close minded on subjects like this....i have often hear people argue that a tree could never possess a consciousness or communication skills because they have no brain....this to me is laughable...
...i'm not entirely sure all the details of all of this but I definitly beleive that any living, and some non-living objects, possess an equal if not superior intellect to us humans....especially trees...when i teach energy innterpratation and manipulation i always teach people how to flow and communicate with trees before anything else....in my experience trees are just as different as people, and like people if you find one you flow with there are many informations offered...
....to anyone who has never experienced communication with a tree i definitly suggest attepmting to find a tree that will speak with you...just allow the trees own energy flow force to enter and interact with your own...from here on a most basic level you should be able to at least percieve the differneces between your own flow and the trees...i often teach beginning students basic give and take and have them practise on trees fore a tree's energy to most is so easy to interpret and diffrenciate from other energies....
....as for most things in life....trees have much to teach...and so often go unheard.....

Trees and plants have a conciousness of there own but it is limited and is restricted to there plane. I do not believe that they however have a superior consciouness to humans though. Human beings posses all levels of consciouness from the lowest to that of the gods .

I donÂ´t think you were communicating telepathically with plants: you need a brain so that you can communicate telepathically, isnÂ´t it?

I believe, though, that everything in nature has a soul...Perhaps it was the plantsÂ´ soul that talked to you.

Of course, there is also the possiblity that your brain was playing with itself: this is quite common in young people, or at least with me....

About singing to the plants, it has been proved scientifically that plants do have a certain response to several things such as ligth (duh!), music, and even torture!
For example, I recently saw in "Myth Busters" that plants that heard Heavy Metal grew way taller than plants that heard Classic Music: all the plants have been under the SAME conditions (except for music)....

What do you think now?!

It was actually the opposite plants that were exposed to heavy metal did not grow as tall as the ones that were exposed to classical music.

no ... first of all, did you see this episode of "Myth Busters" ? ...Unless the translation (from english to spanish) was wrong, Heavy Metal made the plants grew taller. I am sure, because when the episode started I was like "CÂ´mon, of course the plants listening Hevy Metal will rotten first" and by the end of it I was impressed because it had been totally the opposite :O On top of it, I like heavy metal and I am not short.... Ok, perhaps a bit xD but that is because of my diet....

Sure you can talk to plants. Trees have a wealth of wisdom and knowledge. And, what's best about trees is that they circulate energy the way they circulate the air. They will take your excreated energy, and give you fresh in return, the same way they perfom the oxygen/CO2 exchange. If you are really into this, pursue it. I'm now teaching my youngest dauther to talk to the trees, and she absolutely loves it.

I'm interested in talking to plants, but I have no idea how. Should I just sit next to one and "send" it thoughts? How do the responses come back - in words, pictures, feelings, etc? Sorry if it sounds stupid, I'm new to all this.

I haven't heard much about telepathic communication with plants, so I'm not too sure. However, I did read a study where plants actually had EEGs taken of them, and during the study, when someone made threatening remarks (i.e. threatening to uproot and kill the plants, etc.) there was a pattern on the plant EEG which corresponded directly to the fight or flight reaction found in animals and humans. Also, there have also been studies done which showed the effects of reiki and various types of music causing plants to grow faster or slower, so it is entirely possible that plants have some sort of conciousness. Maybe not on the same level as a person's, but certainly perhaps that of an animal. Who knows?
