I was under the impression that, in magic/k, or any energetic undertaking into which one places effort, so that the unmanifest becomes manifest, that the three-fold law needs to be contemplated . . . that whatever you send out into the universe, will return to you with three times the power. So that -- not to say one MAY NOT practice Black Magic, but that, for those who do, they need to be vigilant of the fact that any negativity that they send out, will return to them with three times the original intensity.

On that note, I've learned that White Magicians have a rule that respects this Three Fold Law, that is also called, in respect to this, the Three Fold Law, namely:

One may practice magic so long it is in accordance with:

1. Respect for the Highest Good of all
2. Free Will, and
3. Harming None.

And my understanding was that, if one were to perform Magic for "Jack" to fall in love with them, and they did the above intention before hand, if Jack falling in love with them violated any aspect of those 3 points as outlined above, the magic either wouldn't work at all, or someone 'better for that person' than Jack would fall in love with them.

I read your rules or laws to magical work and wondered if you agreed with these as stated here. In any case these are the laws I adhere to in my practice and wondered if anyone else paid attention to these laws or had heard of them.

I had also learned that the best way to remain in accordance with the Three Fold Law was to practice magic generally but to avoid specifics, i.e. one might do a spell to bring about "the perfect job for me," but not "the job as manager of the regional office of Synthetics Inc." as that job might interfere with the Three Fold Law. And by doing magic in general terms rather than specifics you do generate the magic coming into your life, and making the unmanifest manifest, but you do it in such a way where you adhere to the Laws, and thus, the Universe brings to you that which is perfect for you. In other words what you Need is often different from what you Want.

If you could address this topic and my questions I'd greatly appreciate it.

For that matter, to Magick School Readers in general, I have a poll running regarding the Three Fold Law (both aspects: That energy comes back to you three fold, as well as the Three Fold Law, that includes the set of rules I outlined), inquiring into this board/forum and whether members adhere to these Laws.

It would appear that certain aspects of your outline reflect the Three Fold Law I asked about, namely the "harming none" aspects, and the "defense but not attack" portion as well. But I still wondered if it could be boiled down to the simple Three Fold Law:

Respect for the Highest Good of All,
Free Will,
and Harming None.

In that regard, I am very curious as to how anyone could feel safe doing Black Magic. I am well aware that many have placed tremendous faith, confidence and courage in this practice and I feel I am missing something; I would be terrified. It seems unsafe, when considering the above-stated Laws. Your own outline seems to adhere to that as well, that is why I ask you to comment. If you could shed light I would appreciate it.

The origan of the three fold law is unknown I have read an artical about an interview with Doreen Valantine is which she states that Gerald Gardner made it up. And the three fold law is not found outside of wicca.
how ever there is the posabilaty that residual negative energy dose return to the sender.
