Hi I have a query about how clear your experiences are when astral projecting. this is because, I'm pretty sure I have experienced astral projection (I've been trying long enough!) but I keep reading accounts that the astral plane seems more 'vivid' or 'real' than waking conciousness which doesn't correlate to my experiences which are more like a dreamy vision. is it possible I am not experiencing astral projection but another phenonenom?
i have tried verifying my experiences with mixed results.
hope you can help from

| It's possible you may have had a lucid dream instead, or perhaps you projected into a lower astral realm where things seem more dreamy.... |

| I've noticed when I astral the colors are brighter then in reality. Know what I mean? I did that this past week and a friend of mine asked me about the colors in the event and that's how she knew I was astral traveling. I would definitley keep a look out for that. Oh and I told her where I went had grass and it was cut perfectly and that also seemed to help indicate for whatever reason that she knew I was traveling. Just pay attention to your surroundings compared to reality. |

I've only had a handful of OBEs and lucid dreams but the two from my experience seem fairly similar. I've had lucid dreams that were as vivid as any of my other dreams and lucid dreams where things looked so clear that they almost looked fake. Also vice versa with my OBEs.
Personally I think they're both genuine. I have left my body and other times I have had lucid dreams (though not as lucid as I would like). I think it's all down to your state of mind. Work more on awareness. I once read that you should only start projecting once you've mastered meditation as your mind will be much more clearer then.
I've also had OBEs that turn into dreams. My guess is that my mind was untrainned to deal with such a state and so when I was out a sort of slipped into a dream. I've also had the same thing with lucid dreams. I've read that ther're certain techniques you can try to keep you lucid during dreams. Since OBEs are similar to lucid dreams the same techniques could probably be used while "out and about". |

| Hi other things I've heard of that I haven't noticed in my experience is the 'time distortion' ie that seconds in real time can seem like hours on the astral plane. does that correlate with your experiences? maybe it is more like a lucid dream that I've been experiencing. |
