What are your thoughts?

These are mine:

The problem with allopathic doctors is that they don't want to give any credit to homeopathic doctors. Some allopathic doctors don't have a close mind to trying homeopathic remedies, but my experience is a lot don't believe in homeopathy.

I would really recommend for any illness seeking out a homeopathic doctor and a allopathic doctor and trying what they both say. (use your best judgement)

My thoughts on allopathic medicine (what is jammed down every american's throat) is that it is great for diagnostics and emergency cases and its great for stopping your current symptoms, but it doesn't cure or fix the problem at its point of origin.

Plus many medicines today say here take this, it will cure your runny nose, but be careful this may ruin your kidneys. Then they come out with a knew pill that fixes your kidneys, but it might clot your blood so you may have a heart attack.. Then they say don't worry take this pill and it will stop your blood from cloting, Next thing you know your gallbladder is failing and they give you another pill to stop that.. hmmm and the cycle keeps going and going. With new sicknesses and disease coming out of the very same drugs we take in to cure our aches and pains, the drug companies keep making there wallets thicker and bigger and it always gives them something to do.

I think the best thing to do is to combine both allopathy and homeopathy techniques together. If they were working together and not against each other we wouldn't have so many health issues and concerns. I also heard something about the US government wanting to Ban or make homeopathy remidies illegal. I have so many problems with this, but I'll leave that to another discussion. I will say one thing... don't let it happen ever and it is complete bullshit to have the government run homeopathy anything.

Just think about it do the drug companies really want you to get better? If we were all healthy the drug companies would be out of a job. It's sad to say, but I truly think that in this country the $1 is more important then anyone's health is. Everyone is so upset with tobbaco companies giving there smokers lung cancer, no one is even taking a look at what the drug companies are doing.

I'm not an expert on tobacco or anything of the sort, but my thoughts are maybe its not the tobacco that is causing the cancers, maybe its the 30 thousand other chemicals that is dumped into each cigarette that is causing the cancer. I am not a smoker so either way it doesn't matter to me, but it does because I have friends that smoke.

These are just my thoughts, opinions with some facts thrown in. Do your own research and figure out whether you agree with me or disagree. I am also not a doctor.

As I said in the other thread, I agree! There are times when something does need allopathic treatment - eg if I can't fight an infection with something herbal then I will reluctantly get antibiotics if it is important enough that I do so. I got into the habit a while back of seeing my doctor for clinical diagnosis through blood tests and so on (although iridology and muscle testing are also really good), and then seeking treatment through natural means.

The Age newspaper in Australia had an article on how something like 75% of children between the age of 10 and 15 had been prescribed anti-depressants at some stage. Further down, they mentioned how these drug companies gave 'presents' of BMWs and holidays to doctors who peddled enough of these. I remember when a girlfriend of mine once went to the doctor for a medical certificate for work because her dad had just died - the doctor tries to give her anti-depressants! As if she didn't have a right to feel grief!

First of all, let me say that homeopathy is a small portion of the so called CAM ("complimentary and alternative medicine", as it is often referred). Homeopathy focuses on the idea of "like cures like", and advocates giving diluted toxins to induce mild symptons similar to the disease being fought, with the thought in mind that it will activate the body's defenses. An example of this is the drug Quinine, which used to be used to treat and cure malaria. Exposure to quinine causes mild malaria-like symptoms, and it's "discoverer" (translated: the first person from the western world to use it) was a doctor of Homeopathy.

Other forms of CAM include meridian therapy, herbalism (a hobby of mine), psychology, and chiropractic.

Personally, I like the use of both conventional and CAM treatments. It gives the best of both worlds. However, you must know that both sides are in it for profit. You must also know that 80% of drugs come from plants, so herbal remedies should not be assumed to be free of side effects.
