Does any one know of a good publisher for visionary/mystical fiction books? I have a trilogy that is aching to be published. I currently have queries out to Spiral Publishing, Inc. and Inner Traditions. Hampton Roads has turned it down repeatedly. I've tried the big houses. They require submission through an agent. I've had 4 agents. I know this genre is not currently in vogue, but given the state of the world, it needs to be. I have enough rejections to wallpaper my house, so to speak. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Maybe you should just market your book at fiction. Not visionary/metaphysical fiction. Most people who are interested in metaphysics don't read fictional books about it. They read the factual books with all the information in them. Tthe truth is, many times, much more interesting than fiction. Good Luck.

Thanks, Neschamah, for your reply. Those who already read new age nonfiction are not the main audience I'm going for. I am called to reach others - those who respond to stories. I was one of them once. It was not nonfiction that reached me - it was a story. I didn't want some one telling me their version of the truth, I wanted someone who presented something to me in a way that I could consider lightly, be entertained and then if I liked it I would consider the other messages in the story. I consider myself like the old time storyteller. There's a vast array of folks out there who reply to stories. Failure is imposible. Victory is in the making.

Thanks again for caring.

Vi,
i'd like to read your books, i think i would really enjoy them.

at the minute i'm reading a book called the metaphysical caveman, its quite good in parts, only about 1/4 of the book is about the life of the caveman and rest is the auther trying to explain their thought process, which is mainly invalid points, then aload of brain-storming trying to explain them.

Paul,
Thanks for your interest in my books.

Guess what? Today I just got an offer of a contract from Spiral Publishing Inc. They want to publish my works, The Grandmother's Cave Trilogy: The Legend of Thirteen Women. Yea!!!! I'm so excited. So the next step is discussing the contract. I just replied to them that I'm interested and await their response. At this point the names of the individual works are: Grandmother's Cave, The Sunstar Medallion and Secrets of the Moss Woman. However, titles can change if the publisher believes another title will sell better. If you want to read synopses of these works you can find them them on my website: www.whereartmeetstheheart.com in the books section.

If you'd like to read about Spiral Publishing you can find them at http://spiralpublishinginc.com.

Blessings to you,

Vi

Thanks. I am the woman in a couple of the paintings - the young woman in the Aunt Lottie and Me painting. Lottie really was my aunt. She passed at age 97. I am also the woman in the Grandmother's Cave painting, the one you see from behind. And I'm the woman in the paintiing called Anita's Beach. Anita is my sister who is very ill. I painted this one for her because she loved the beach.

Blessings, Vi

Well not sure if this helps but have you checked out Alibris.com? It's a site to purchase books but you could also search for the type(s) of books your looking for? Be Blessed Kat

[color=violet] [b]Hi -----try 1 800-THE MOON Last time I spoke with them they did some of their own publishing.

They are all about 'magic' books and cards. Probably the best selection of Tarot cards going.

They also sell out of print and hard to find 'magic' books and such.

I have about 200 of their titles. Once I wanted a very rare book and they had the publishing rights to it and were not going to republish it----so they went to the authors' estate and took his own copy from his bookcase and sold it to me as a used book, for $3.00! Now thats service!

Good Luck to you!

Love and Blessings,
Skylord

My deal with Spiral Publishing fell through. They offered a contract that was totally unacceptable to me and were unwilling to negotiate at all. One more marked off my list.

well i don't know if you've tried this or not but try asking mystix if he'll do a manifestation for you.

Have you considered taking on the responsibilities of publishing and selling your book yourself? It'll take a lot of work but i'm sure you won't mind since your motivation is to get you books out there. The easiest and least expensive way would be to market them through ebooks online. I do have a course called "The insider Secrets to Marketing your business on the internet." Which i think is a very good course I just don't have a business to go w/ it. Here is the link if you want to check it out. http://www.marketingtips.com

Hope this helps.

Yes, I have as a matter of fact. Thanks. Been there done that. Both my husband and I did this with two books each. Unfortunately the company we used was not trustworthy. We lost twenty thousand dollars because the publisher and his son took our money and spent it on gambling and houses of prostitution. They ripped off others as well. The state brought charges against him, and he was forced into bankruptcy. We can't afford to do it again. But thanks for the recommendation.

It will work out.
