Sigh. I've been offline for quite a while... and felt like things were working relationship-wise. But it turns out maybe they're not because he seems to have a list of complaints about me, which has really hurt and upset me. All because I felt like I could be myself and be emotionally open. But it seems like that's too much for him and he doesn't like it, so now what? I honestly don't know how to interpret him because it seems like I got it all wrong. I'm confused... after 2 1/2 years, can't I expect more than this? Does he have to be the one who leads this relationship and me never being able to say what I want without him throwing a tantrum or blowing it out of proportion? How am I supposed treat him? To work out, does this involve everything going his way and never mine?

If he is annoyed with you for being open with, it is probably best to take a few days apart and just relax. I don't know too much about the situation, so it would be helpful if you could mention what specific events are bugging him. Good luck, and I really hope everything will work out.

Hi Black Cat-I don't know if you are still having problems. I can see that maybe the dust settles for awhile and then the complaining and hurts start all over again. Is he upset over your abilities? Anyway, no one person should be in control over anybody as far as relationships go. I have a feeling you are a really talented and smart person. Ask yourself if this is how you want to live? Are you willing to give up everything? Your answer will come my dear. Kaybee

Hey BlackCat,

You pretty much have 4 options:

1. You ignore the problem and complaints.
2. You could change some or everything about you that he complains about.
3. You could talk to him honestly and maturely, and try to resolve the problem.
4. Break up with him.

Of course, there are other mixtures of these, but thoses are your 4 basic options.
