I keep seeing 916 quite consistently, but I don't know what it means, where it comes from.

Here are some rather significant instances of 916:
-Number of my first apartment
-Number of my first class room as a teacher
-Number of a boyfriend's license plate who turned out to be a serious pathological liar
-Number I saw about 10 time on 9/10/01...and I was flying home when 9/11 went down (and subsequently stranded in Michigan).

So it's significant.

Can anyone help me understand?

Your post jumped right out at me, because my ex-husband's birthday was 9/16. What amazed me when I read your post was that you and I have the following things in common:

We notice numbers in our environment, and look to ascribe meaning when they repeat

I too see 9/16, and did before my ex and I even met,

I too had a "numbers experience" before 9/11 (and I was with my ex at the time of the event).

My numbers experience with 9/11 was that I had been seeing my own birthday numbers for approximately one year prior to the event . . 11/25/77. In license plates, pieces of paper, bills, etc. And I wondered what it meant. Then I watched the events of 9/11 on TV, and the planes were my birthday . . .The first plane was flight number 11 . . the second plane was flight number 125 (the last two digitis were the day of my birthday) and the third flight number was 77.

The fourth flight number was 93 . . a number that held no significance to ME, but was the year my ex graduated from high schoool. . . . and he is the 9/16 . . .your number.

What do you think about all this?
I think maybe we can receive messages through numbers . . .since the death of my grandma I see her birthday all over the place (7/13) and my friend, too, whose birthday was either 7/14 or 7/15 (no one looked at the clock when he was born, so it's unclear which). Funny they should be right next to each other on the calendar, he and my grandma . . .

If you have other thoughts I'd be happy to hear them. I wonder if it's not 9/16 itself that has significance, but instead the fact that you notice it . . . by the way, my 9/16 ex was a pathological liar, too!

By the way, I mostly grew up in Michigan, a state you mentioned in your post.

You know, the probabilities of all of these numbers occuring are really pretty normal. You see a LOT of numbers each day, it's just that your mind picks out certain numbers more than others. Also, the birthday thing is pretty likely also. I'd be happy to explain mathematically if you'd like.
