Hi everyone! I have empathic, clairvoyant, and precognitive ability, and all have been . . . an experience? LOL I've had them for as long as I can remember(back to maybe 5 or 6). The clairvoyance and precognitive ability was suppressed as a teenager(for the normal reasons of not wanting to be a 'freak', and being scolded by my family for it), but came back at 21 when I began meditating. It's a little different now compared to when I was child though; I used to only dream of things that happened, and it would happen on a daily basis. Since returning, I can see things both in dreams and in my waking state, and it comes and goes in clusters(I'll have many over the span of a few weeks or months, and then go a few weeks or months without any). Sometimes it's mundane things, sometimes it's very serious things, but one big difference is now I remember a lot more of the dreams(which comes in handy if I want to change what I see). It is out of my control right now though, and that isn't so much frustrating, but when I see something while I'm awake, it really throws me for a loop(I can get dizzy, nauseas, a migraine, etc.). Any pointers on how to deal with the daytime visions?
On the other hand, the empathy never went away, and made me very hypersensitive, especially to those I've been close to. Over the last couple of years, it's gotten much worse, and I seem to absorb other people's emotions as my own and can have a hard time differentiating between the two. I've suffered from anxiety for a long time, and it has been amplified by the empathy, complicating matters(most shrinks don't believe in this sort of thing! but I have ventured into more alternative therapies, and that has helped some). How do those of you with empathic ability keep other people's emotions from getting tangled in your own? |

| A basic shield should be enough to block out other people's thoughts and emotions. Psipog has a few articles about empathy and shielding. |

| Generating any sort of shielding is a pointless practice. Shields are broken with timing. There are plenty of unconscious bottom feeders in the world, and the only defense is a strong will. Here's a way to save yourself. I will tell you that the only threat is yourself. Any two energy can expand into infinity as long as they have it within themselves to do so. I want you to learn hypnosis or lucid dreaming so you can explore yourself. Know that no limit is you limit. Know that what ever your empathisizing it is a reflection ofsome facet of yourself. Know thyself because you are your greatest enemy, so stick close. |
