I have been a practicing classical homeopath for nearly twenty years and have treated successfully all manner of chronic diseases. At the moment alternative medicine seems, or some aspects of homeopathy at least, seem confused.
This confusion comes from the belief that in treating chronic disease the patient must decide what sort of treatment they want, homoeopathic or conventional but life is never this cut and dried. One of the problems for homoeopathy is that ever since Hahnemann homoeopathy has drawn a line in the sand that it’s either us or them.
To me this shows a lack of understanding about what chronic disease is. This is not meant to be a pallid statement like ‘we should all work together for the benefit of patient’ it based on the firm understanding of what chronic disease is and where it begins.
The best book I have ever read on the subject comes from an Australian homoeopath. The website is – www.soulandsurvival.com – if you’re interested. The book ‘soul and survival’ outlines clearly how chronic disease begins and takes hold and it is always associated with personal energy.
Every individual has their personal supply of energy. Under pressure we use up more of that energy in an attempt to cope with danger.
Nature has made us so our survival instinct gets every ounce of available energy in times of crisis. This means organs and any area of the body born with a deficiency are denied that little bit extra they need to maintain optimal functioning during stress. If this continues for a long period of time chronic disease begins. Every patient with chronic disease has a depletion of energy or a stressful story to tell. This is chronic disease.
Patients with chronic disease do not have to choose between us and them because while conventional medicine works on the results of stress, the patient’s reactivity to stress still continues, and that’s where we come in.
I would be interested in any comments and suggest you go to the website, it’s the best book I know regarding these principles and it is written without jargon so everyone, not just practitioners, can understand it. www.soulandsurvival.com
