I don't know if you've had this question often, but how does one know who he/she was in his/her past life? Is there some way to review this information? I am very interested in this portion of magick... It sounds very interesting to know who you once where. Thanks and blessings to all, Forceflow

Ok, well I'm going to give a simple answer, which I know isn't really what your looking for. As it is the simple answers which are the least helpful, or the hardest to grasp.

Take yourself into a meditation. (If you haven't meditated before, you may want to look at http://mysticalwonders.org/group/viewtopic.php?p=2984&highlight=#2984 by d_redent, its a good basic one.) Once you are in that calm place, simply ask for what your seeking. In this case in your own words "Who, or what was I in a past life" and then be open to whatever experience befalls you.

Thankyou, I will try this when I goto take my nap. (I take naps at around mid day so that I can practice my astral projection and my meditation) I find that dreams are VERY similar to meditation for me. They are almost always peaceful dreams in which I sit and look at the world around me. I have almost mastered astral projection, so after my nap I will meditate for an hour or so. It is hard to do this without my mother realizing I am getting into magick... I doubt she would support my belief...

I have just finished meditating, (time passed by slower in the astral world), And I asked the God Almighty to show me my previous life. A vision of a fox scrounging through the woods appeared before my eyes. I was curious, and attempted to try some time travel to this fox... It shows many of my charicteristics, and I wonder if it is possible that I was once a fox? I saw a second vision, however it was far to blurry to make out... I am most likely to inept at Magick to force my powers to hold out for such a period.

Hmmm, could be a past life, could also be a totem (A spirit or being placed to help you find something)

Main thing is not to judge as much as possible, and just go with the experience.....

Your right of course, it might be a totem, but for some reason I just feel it was a past life. I think I'm going to go concentrate on figuring out my second vision now, Thanks, Forceflow.

I was just reading this book and it said there are actual records called the Akashic that are in the spirit world in a library. I want to say the Temple of Golden Wisdom is where its located. But I can't remember if that right. I know it has a special name.They say in meditation to ask your guide to take you there and find your record and look up your past lives. I've never done it, but I believe in it and think its really cool that you can do it if you put your mind to it. Your guide can help you understand it if its in another language. Lacey

Here is a bit of info on how I became aware of many of my past lives, maybe it will help you too.

I have found that most of the insights into my past have been triggered by meditation and/or dreaming, as many have already noted. In addition, after the first few lives were opened up to me this way, I began to catch glimpses of other lives at any odd time, often as 'waking dreams' or sudden visions. Some of these came to me during my Reiki attunements, others at no particularly auspicious moment in my life. As I become more aware of where my path has been leading for my entire existence on this planet, I began to get random intuitions triggered by such mundane things as TV specials on ancient history or mysteries (like Atlantis). Most of my intuitions have been confirmed by psychic friends over time. All this has led up to the final realization- that I have not always been in this part ofthe universe. I know in hindu beliefs one can reincarnate as any living thing. Personally I think human reincarnate as beings of similar or equal capacity. I don't know exactly how to explain my ideas on the process of reincarntion. But think that for a certain amount of time energy that manifests as life ages. The older the energy that is manifested the greater the cognitive perception of that manifested entity is. So in this way its possible for us humans to have been other animals but that because of the energy that allows us to be humans and not dinosours we remain entering and existing human lives until our energy has achieved a new level. What exactly energy is in this sense I'm not sure. I only beleive that energy is everywhere. Perhaps the energy of life is at a much faster frequency than that of inanimate objects. A faster frequency could possible allow energy to change faster. At a rate that would negate a living organism. However its interesting to think that if its simply the frequency of a specfic amount of energy that makes something living than there could be entities of pure energy existing on plains of pure energy/thought i.e. the astral/etheric plains. Anyways through all this rambling I think we are beings approaching a state similar to that of such beings of pure energy. Within say perhaps the next 10,000 to one million years humanity with start to ascend the plains of reality like we do levels on sky scrappers. I deffinately believe evolution of our spiritual energy (energy that allows life to exist at all) is progressive. We as humans will only become less than human on a cognitive level if we allow our energies to decay or digress back into more primitive modes of thought.
