I read this book on summoning magick, called "Summoning Spirits." I don't really like the methods presented in the book. With them, you force the entity to come to you and force it to obey your commands. This just doesn't seem right to me. It's like slavery! Can anyone relate to this? And does anyone know of a method of summoning which allows you to get an entity to come to you and render a service willingly?

This is something I never heard of. Yes, it sounds wrong. Knowing in your own mind you are forcing something to do stuff for you. You could ask for help in a loving way. If your positive and want positive results like help in your career, etc. then I think its okay. If your negative you could be inviting evil spirits in. I'm sure they would be willing to help you, but what could they really do for you? What would you ask? "Make me rich!" And its done. Just kidding! But I think they are more powerful then to just do whatever you ask. Just my take on it. Piscesgirl

When you deal with those in the spiritual world, you deal with them with reverance and respect (not worship!!!!)
There are man 'not so nice', or not so advanced I guess you'd say, that seem to come to you like magnets if you can communicate. It's like they search out someone who can understand or connect with them.
But generaly speaking - you get sympathetic spirits (those who are as honorable and good in intention and heart as you yourself are), they come in time of need and for council.
Also, those you REALLY love that have passed, your thoughts bring them near.

maybe you could invoke a spirit guide who is everyones best friend, and when your in an interview or something he stands next to the person interviewing, and wispers into there ear. go on, give them the job, you know you want to.
or you could invoke a fearsome warrior who always stands in the corner protecting you, and the interviewer will get a funny feeling that he just has to give you the job- or else

LOL! Actualy, those 'not so advanced' tricksters are great for giving others 'an idea' kind of thing. LOL
The problem is that they are mischievious - and they like to play with YOU too!

To force the entity to come sounds very much like the bad, or as commonly called, black magick or satanism.
I personally would not use such methods.
Ask, entice, (if a female spirit try chocolate) even grovell if needed but never coerce.

there are ways of utilising spirits via specially programmed crystals

they respect the owner of the crystal and try to be friends with them..

Hi,

Sounds like something out of necromonicron, or the 50 faces of god.

Only major issue with summoning is if you belive in karma. As if that is the case most likely the spirit you are enslaving is yourself from a different life. Or if not, whatever you do to that spirit, it may in turn do the same to you in another life. Reap what you sow and all of that jazz.

Not to mention that you may summon something that you A. Lose control of and it could run rampant and destroy you. or B. want something like soul lifetimes in to do your bidding (Soul slavers aren't fun) or worse C. do your bidding and then when they are complete proceed to destroy you.

So either way your pretty much screwed. Generally short cuts only help now, and make everything slow later.

But as that wise once said play with fire, gonna get burned. And sometimes the only lessons you learn are the lessons you experience for yourself.

I know the book Summoning Spirits. It's a modern day interperataion of an older almost infamous book on evocational magick. Thing with the older book is that like many similar books there are different ways of reading them. First there reading them literally, second metaphoricly and third theres hidden the meaning to them or the true *keys*. Until you fully understand the forces and the nature of these forces, reading the book literally can be and was I think meant to be misleading and incomplete.

I've had a very limited experience with this system and it's not for novices which I guess I would class myself as. My advice would be if you intend to carry out the operations and are succesful with them to approach the spirits with the utmost caution. They are of, in my experience, a 'fallen' nature and can lead you to ruin.
