I was wondering if anyone here knew about safe astral travel or remote viewing methods...something you don't have to pay bags of money to learn preferably.

Mysticweb.org has FREE online classes. they have trained thousands on how to do this. They also have centers of training that are free, one of them is in Australia. check the website out.
I never finished their class but during it i had three awesome projections. The training works.

Guess it depends on your defintion of 'safe' . Gotta remeber that the astral isn't just a play land. Its a reality, anything you meet along the way could be allied to the darkness, light, or gray. Don't strut your stuff, be kind to all strangers, and if something doesn't want to talk to you leave it alone.

Its just like walking down the street of any city, there are beings from all over, some will try to con ya, some will be helpful, and some will offer you something in exchange for your very essance.

Have fun....though if your looking for a dream world, start by lucid dreaming.

Think of The Empire Strikes Back when luke was told by Yoda to go into the cave. The astral plains is very similar in that what you take with you is what you will find. Luke took his light saber - a weapon. A tool that causes suffering and so in the cave he found the result of this- himself in the image of his ultimate enemy Darth Vader. The astral plains are not a play ground. But its not something to be feared either. Its no more dangerous than meditating in your back yard. However if you enter the Astral realm with fear then fear invoking images/entities is what you will find. Take with you greed or desire to horde treasures and you will find entities who will try and take your treasures away. Go seking advice and you will find very wise and knowledgably beings. Go with the intentions of fighting and you will find beings looking for a fight. And these can have very negative impact on your psyche and even cause trauma. But even thats a pretty extreme case. If AP is done improperly it can lead to "astral bleeding" or where a person's astral essence becomes damaged and so in affect "bleeds" energy from the person. But this avoided by simply keeping yourself grounded and traveling when it is appropriate.

Exactly caution is in order but you're only in danger if danger is what you bring. If one is truely interested in utilizing the astral plains I'd personally find a spirit guide or being willing to protect and lead one while on the astral plains. The guide will keep you in check, on tangent and safe from harmful beings. However I've never met a being that was harmful unless I let it make me afraid. Fear is your worst enemy. Fear itself is a natural reaction to an uncertain situation. But don't let the fear control you.
