In my three years of Reiki healing experience, I earlier used to worry as I would forget the symbols that I was told were mandatory for healing. But soon I realised that if my heart/mind was in its right place, the cosmic healing would flow in all its majesty and beauty regardless of anything else.
I have experienced dramatic results in distance healing...just being in a contemplative mood and surrendering to the grandeur of the cosmic power and divine powers.
I believe that in the present day world healing of the Heart Chakra holds the key to peace and love within a person and the world outside.
Love and peace,

| Yes, I agree Mystic Indian. I had a reading done by an interesting man who believes that healing the heart is a way to find inner peace. He told me that I was reading all these books on witchcraft, etc. and that I knew deep in my heart that it wasn't as complicated as they were making it. So I agree with you that it comes from your heart. With anything you do in life, it comes from the heart. Lacey |

Here, Piscesgirl, I would like to quote from a book that I read recently, "Vibrational Medicine for the 21st Century",...."We have all heard the saying 'It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.' Love is a necessity of human existence and a powerful healing force for both self and others. In fact, a memory of love can sometimes be life-sustaining when one is dealing with major life challenges, obstacles, and illness because, you see, love is the primary energy of the heart chakra, and perhaps it may even be the 'binding force of the universe'. "
The author, Richard Gerber MD, quotes from medical studies conducted in mainstream medical institutions in the UK and the US that those whose heart chakra is affected by hatred, resentment, and bitterness towards others are more prone to diseases, including heart attacks and cancer.
"It is not an exaggeration or a mere metaphor to say that 'love makes the world go round'. It is often easier to love someone else than it is to love yourself without judgment or self-criticism. Over time, a chronic lack of self-love could eventually lead to a distorted flow of subtle energy through the heart chakra, and thus an abmnormally functioning immune system."
The author adds: "We already know that an abnormal immune functioning may result in a wide range of health problems, including allrgies, chronic fatigue syndrome, increased susceptibility to colds, viruses, autoimmune disorders such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, and even in certain forms of cancer."
Love and forgiveness, he says, are the healing forces that release the energy blocks to the heart chakra created by bitterness, resentment, anger, and even grief.
Isn' it interesting, Piscesgirl, that what the world's great spiritual teachings had mentioned ages ago should be confirmed by the mainstream medical science now who increasingly believe that the total cure lies in curing the mind, body and the spirit. Swaraaj |

| My bother is allways telling me that in order to do anything I must come from the heart and that nothing is possible unless the heart is open. I have resisted this as I figured one has to use the whole of what it means to be human, after all the heart is only one chacra. To come from a place of love, is that comming form the heart or is that comming from a place of being that encompases all of the mind as well as the heart. We are emotional, physical, mental, spiritual, sexual beings. How can the term coming from the heart encompass al of this. Is it our attachement to the chemical addection of what it is like to feel good for helping another. There are times when our compassion needs to be ruthless. Is this still from the heart. I know I am going into resistance here. When I am experienceing threw my third eye or my root chacra, I don't feel it is my heart I am accessing. When I function I want to be able to acess all aspects of my luminosity. Mabey I don't have acess to any other part of myself untill my heart is open. That can't be true either because thier are plenty of dark people out there where thier heart is closed that are powerfull as well. |

Dear Threewolves,
Your observations are interesting, very interesting...from the heart! It is significant that you find that "there are times when our compassion needs to be ruthless". When you say this, you are not going "into resistance" but depicting cultural moorings (perhaps primordial feelings) of a society which has not been able to overcome the concept of "ruthlessness". So much so that one can so easily talk of "ruthlessness" and "compassion" in the same breath.
As so succinctly put by Sri Aurobindo (Indian revolutionary and seer), "First consider what was gained when Nature passed from the brute inconscience and inertia of what seems inanimate Matter to the vibrant awakening of sensibility of plant range...This was an imprisoned gain, for there was still a gross oppression of the first Inconscience which had covered up with the brute phenomenon of Matter and of Energy of Matter all signs of the Spirit..."
He adds:"...And what then was gained when Nature passed from the obscurity of the plant kingdom to the awakened sense, desire and emotion and the free mobility of animal life? The gain was liberated sense and feeling and desire and courage and cunning and the contrivance of the objects of desire, passion and action and hunger and battle and conquest and the sex-call and play and pleasure, and all the joy and pain of the conscious living creature."
While tracing the evolutionary thought process of Man, Sri Aurobindo says that because Man is a mental being, he naturally imagines that mind is the great leader, and actor and creator or the indispensable agent in the universe. But, he adds, this is an error. "Mind is a clumsy interlude betwen Nature's vast and precise subconscient action and the vaster infallible superconscient action of the Godhead".
Now what follows may clear, "Threewolves", your dilemma. Please read these lines of Sri Aurobindo carefully: "There is nothing mind can do that cannot be better done in the mind's immobility and thought-free stillness. When mind is still, then Truth gets her chance to be heard in the purity of silence. Truth cannot be attained by the Mind's thought but only by identity and silent vision. Truth lives in the calm wordless Light of the eternal spaces; she does not intervene in the noise and cackle of logical debate."
And I end his quotes with this one: "But only if the mind is no less intense in its purity than its silence. For in an impure mind the silence will soon fill with misleading lights and false voices, the echos or sublimation of its own vain conceits and opinions or the response to its secret pride, vanity, ambition, lust, greed or desire. The Titans and the Demons will speak to it more readily that the divine Voices..."
Another quote, from another source, that comes to my mind is: "Silent waters run deep". And now my favourite one that I heard recently: "SPEAK ONLY WHEN YOU YOU CAN IMPROVE UPON SILENCE."
Love is the most beautiful manifestation of this golden silence. Blessed are those in whose heart love resides. I know that all the chakras are important. But in this age of widespread uncertainty, confusion and aggression, a healed heart chakra may provide a key to the solution of several challenges that we face in our day-to-day life.
