| Okay, so I have been trying to lucid dream for a while now and on about 3 occasions I have become aware of being in a dream but then I don't do anything about it, I just go on with my dream. How can I get in control of my dream?

It may be as easy as just before you go to bed you say to yourself "Tonight I will control my dreams."
If that doesn't work I would repeat a positive affirmation to yourself. I've read it you can hold a thought for 17 seconds it becomes an attracting thought. If you hold a thought for 1 minute and 8 seconds it becomes a dominating thought. Try it.
Geez I used to know of a really good free online book that taught me how to lucid dream.. and that was 4 years ago... I wonder if I could find it again. The book talked about someone's personal experience with lucid dreaming and at the bottom of each chapter was an exercise to try. Maybe the book is posted here somewhere under my old screen name. I'll see if I can find it.

| I'm going to try that tonight. I'm interested in lucid dreaming too.

What really helps is setting your alarm at 5 AM for example. You wake up and write down your dream(s) in all the detail you can. Really try to remember. When you remember dreams, often you go in the opposite direction. What happened before and so on.
After a few days you get a feeling for dreams, what they are like etc. Then start becoming aware of the dream-like quality in waking life. After this you will become lucid.

| This has worked for me several times in the past, before going to sleep I'd try to focus on a goal on what I want to accomplish in my dream. The key is to actually believing that you can accomplish the task and imagining yourself doing it. It takes some practice but it works pretty well after you've gotten a knack for it.
