Haahahahahaha.....
I have been intrigued by that show since i was 4 years old, it used to come on t.v then when i became older and learned that i could watch it online i saw the whole series including DB though i really hated DBGT so i didnt watch that,
now what is a saiyan, basically according to the anime its an alien race which were really good at fighting and controlling their ki (though every bad guy character also has good control over their ki) XD
i dont know why i liked such a show as my friend was like 'how could you?'
i guess it must be the influence of my brothers i mean i would love to play a fighting game over Barbie anytime

| I remember such a race, marked down as myth by future generations. Some say they had been a part of earth even before man, but I know different. The name does not sound familiar to me, perhaps I just forgot? |

But i thought goku meant something else.....like the sky or something....no thats 'hoshizuku'............but goku definitely doesnt mean hell.....cuz goku is a japanese name so it will have a japanese meaning (i think) and devil is 'akuma' (in japanese) so it cant be that.......
But really saiyans arent real right? I mean sure people can fly, control their ki and fight well (not to mention be so strong as to lift huge rocks) but they cant have a tail!!!
Though it might not be related to DBZ at all and i am just blabbering

Saiyan = Saiya-jin = which just means person from Saiya. Saiya is not real anywhere unless someone has named a star or meteor after it.
Look up "caudal appendage" for people with tails.
Goku means "quiet". Wiki seems to think it means "savior of life". Or "very" as in This book is very dear = Kono hon w goku tako.

| I used to do GoJu Ryu on top of my zanshin martial arts. My Goju Sensei always said that goju meant fast-slow as in the style of fighting. |

Oh yes you are right....there are three writing levels so the word goku won't mean the same in all of them....jigoku...i think i have heard of the word before...so it stands for hell hmmm.....but you know i never thought that one of my 'past-favorite' cartoons would have some ancient history behind it......does anyone know where we could interview the author? XD i am sure he might say we are all crazy.......but who knows he might have read some ancient legends and decided to create a manga from there...
ah now i remember!!! when i was watching dragonball 2 or 3 years ago....in the first episodes they said something about the meaning of the word goku maybe thats where i got the wrong definition from

cuz everywhere i go only either boys like the cartoon or no one knows abt it and even if they do know they think its stupid ( i know its for kids and stuff but its not so bad for passing time) |
