Hello i was just wondering if any of you had to deal with the 'jokes and sometimes completely insensitive remarks' from family members if you ever try to do anything (e.g healing and such)
since its summer vacation i dont know who to pracitce on and i am worried i will lose what little i gained from practicing at school

anyways tell me about your situations is it the same or are there really familys that support these things

When I first began my awakening process many of my co-workers and family ridiculed my beliefs and efforts. At first I was angered by their comments. After awhile I saw that anger was not appropriate. Then I removed myself from them. Finding that was not the right thing to do I just talked about mundane things as they were for the time I was with them. Many times I wanted to interject what I had learned but did not.

I then began to seek those of a like mind. I found several groups out there and became good friends with many individuals. That friendship has lasted to the present. Being with them I could practice and do what I liked to do in the metaphysical area and learned from them also.

All is not lost. As the saying goes..'Seek and you shall find"

in school i was said to be crazy and well they all used to be like 'what are you doing' (it was when i was first trying to make a ki ball)
after months of practice i made them believe me.....but family is an entirely different matter
my big brother says that 'my sense of reality is completely distorted' (i told him that his sense of reality is too narrow minded) my younger brother is the same my mom says that i would need years of practice before i can accomplish anything and well my dad is VERY against it.
I live in a place where i doubt i will be able to meet those with the same beliefs as me, (my best friend believes me but doesnt really practice it) so here i am annoying others by complaining on this forum.
I am now working on something which will make them believe it (although i can only practice when i am lying in bed)
again thanks for sharing your experience at least it made me feel that if other people can do it then so can i

You may want to share your experiences and the things you are trying to accomplish. There are many diverse individuals here who may provide you with some tips to help you. If you do, use the proper catagory for the most exposure.

Haha, yeah I know what you mean Mysterious. I don't really have anyone that I know personally that I could talk to about any of this sort of stuff. Most of my friends are either stone-cold atheists, moderate Christians, or unsure Agnostics; none of which would even let me get anywhere with what I would be saying if I was willing to venture forth the effort to talk about my beliefs. I hope someday soon to find people like myself, but for now mum's the word in my life.

i am really glad that you guys replied its really fun to talk about stuff like this right?

and lenred i have posted many topics and have gotten a wide range of opinions from really friendly individuals, but the thing is that in cyberspace i am being supported and encouraged but in reality(a.k.a physically) its different. so i thought i would make a forum so that different people will share their personal experiences and we could have....a you could say an interesting chat. Smile

I guess i am faced with the same situation as you terrelljacobson, Smile

its really hard to argue against people who believe in one religion. most of the time i am arguing against people who follow the same religion as me and i know that if i tell a grown-up about this the blame will go to my family for not teaching me properly. the fact is that no religion has ever written that this stuff is forbidden and not allowed, sure i believe in God but i also believe that humans have these abilities and i always ask God for help before trying anything, that doesnt make me a non-believer but i am sure others think different
