Just wondering if anyone can help me here. I have done my reili level two training and would love to do my reiki master level. I have come across the master symbol and have felt its energy even though I have not been initiated. Does anyone know if I need to be attuned, would it be ok to use this symbol anyway.??Rachael Confused

Simple answer, at level two you only have the ability to use the symbols you have for that level. The one you're talking about is only there to attune others and has no other function, and only a master can do that. I'm sure being attuned this far you will be able to feel the energy of it, but it won't be of any practical use, and masters leave it alone unless initiating another master, though some will try and find other uses as well. But if you are that sensitive to the energy, you should then go ahead and take the master's, and then will be able to attune others as well.
But as far as healing goes, level two allows you to do everything already, and a lot faster than level one, good luck with it.

This post may be too little too late, but I am new to the forum and just came across your post.

I will also warn you that my response, and I honor satguru's remarks, may get me some flak, but I think you deserve another side to this question.

I was originally given all of my Reiki attunements in one shot. Yep, the Reiki Master I studied with was and is one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have met in this physical realm, and he said I was ready for all three levels, so he gave me all three levels. I'm relating that to you for two reasons: there are many many people that adhere to the belief that there is a special reason for the attunements being given over the course of time (basically earned) and there are others that don't. I've studied with some very talented individuals these last six years and can quite honestly say that they are both right... and both wrong.

I have asked and received numerous attunements from Spirit based solely upon requesting it. It was a big step for me to understand that everyone is different and proceeds at their own rate. Thus I could be a Reiki Master in just one day, since on an enegetic and spiritual development level I had already did the prep work in preparing myself to receive these upgrades. But that's not always true for everyone.

The other thing I discovered years ago with Reiki, was that I no longer needed or felt inclined to work with the symbols. They are a tool for focusing the energy and simply that. Once you have grown comfortable with the idea that the energy is intelligent, and that you are working directly with Spirit and the higher self of individuals, you learn to trust that they receive exactly what they need, and you do not need to consciously invoke specific symbols or hand positions in order to channel the energy correctly to them. It becomes an act of humble gratitude, a moving prayer field that is greater than the two individuals, that is perfect in all that it is and is not. Once you remove expectation and the ego from the proceedings, the grace and ease of a treatment becomes sublime.

OK, I'm really going on much more than I intended. Have you received your master attunement yet?? Let me know if you haven't, I would be happy to attune you long distance.
