I just found this wonderful place and wanted to introduce myself. I'm 40 and for as long as I can remember I have experienced strange things around me. Nothing really major, but little things, yet I always knew most people did not have the same experiences. And almost as long I have been trying to find out what "this" is and how to enhance "it" to help myself and others. Unfortunately I have not been very successful
I've dreamt about a lot of my past lives, or at least I believe they were, I was visited by my grandma and my father when they died (on another continent when I had no idea what was happening to them), and can often feel entities/energies swirling around me, especially in the evenings before going to bed but I assume that's simply because that's the only time when I am quiet and able to "receive". Sometimes, when they are very strong, I will feel them during the day.
One other ability I have, one which I would dearly like to expand on though I have no idea how, is "knowing" people. It's hard to describe. I can look at a person or a photograph and very accurately describe that person's character and possibly predict how they would react in a given situation. I have often had experiences of not liking a person from the first meeting but having no idea why and feeling guilty as a result. ONly to find out, sometimes months or years later, that there WAS something about them which was a good reason not to like them.
Anyways, enough about me. I'm looking forward to meeting other people with similar experiences, reading the posts and learning!

Hi Selena,
I'm a musician too, though not as accomplished as you. I too was diagnosed bipolar, and haven't really been able to play since. I'm not sure if it's the Lithium, or what, but I just don't seem to get anything from playing like I used to.
Things are changing now though, and I'm hoping that my music will come back. I have a very dear friend who is going to be ordained soon, and she asked me to play something for her ordination. I agreed, so I am picking up one of my instruments and practicing. Who knows, maybe that spark will once again ignite something.
On the other side of things though, I have this other dear friend who was involved in a terrible car accident. He was almost left for dead at the scene, but fortunately made it to the hospital. He is a pianist, and in the accident suffered a brain injury, along with massive injury to his left hand and arm.
He has been working for years to regain his ability to play, constantly trying to regain what he lost. Personally, I think he is better now than before the accident, but he doesn't see it. The sad thing though is that he is also an artist, and he has lost the inspiration to paint. He thinks it's depression, but I'm not sure what meds would do for that. He still draws carricatures, but very few paintings.
I guess that some of us artists are more sensitive to changes and medications that others. I don't really know what to offer you other than to say to allow yourself to be open to play as often as you can.

Hi Dee,
Yes, I do think a lot of artists are very sensitive and possibly more psychic than "general population". But I think maybe you have my post confused with someone else's? I'm not a musician (I draw and paint) and I'm not bipolar. At least I don't think I am.
