Just possibilities:

Not everybody feels things the same way, some can't even feel it.

You may have been closing yourself off (not as open to it as you should be).

Some energies only work when you need them, or are ready for them, and it may not be your time.

And being a skeptic sometimes gets in the way; know from your heart that it will (and is) working.
