Hello. I have a question about consciousness. This is a powerful and possibly frightening idea. What if everyone's "reality" were only their own? What I mean by this is, in anyone universe/ reality, only one true consciousness exists. For example, my own reality is literally only mine, since no one else could truly be conscious in it but me, seeing as I can't experience their "consciousness". I wonder this because 1. you can never truly prove anyone is conscious but you in your own reality, 2. only you can manifest anything that occurs in "your" reality, 3. The people around you are almost always a facet of yourself, be it something you want to be, or something you are. Now from this, it would be a question of what are the other people? They show signs of consciousness and are able to experience things as you can. The answer I came up for this is that they are simply "shadows" of their true selves, who are off in their own realities. These shadows may have EVERYTHING to be considered conscious on a basic level, scientifically; and are fundamentally the people who they are shadows of...but they lack the the fundamental ability to affect reality, seeing as only YOU can affect your own reality. This would be supported by the infinite universes thing, seeing as it could be another factor in the splitting of realities along with the moment to moment choices. I was just wondering if that's at all possible.

I'm pretty sure that's the philosophical standpoint of solipsism. While you're idea is interesting nobody really believes in solipsism. My philosophy teacher once told me about an acquaintance of his who was a solipsist. Apparently, she didn't know why nobody else was a solipsist.

Ahhh, philosophy jokes are so lame.

Ah I figured a view such as that would be looked down upon. Although it doesn't completely follow solipsism...other consciousness do exist...just not in the same realities.
