Over the years I have developed an extreme sensitivity to animals and I have no idea where it's coming from. I have always been one who loves and appreciates nature and I enjoy seeing animals in their environment.....birds in particular.
I can not, however, bear to see and harm inflicted on any animals at all. If I am unfortunate to witness an animal get struck by a car, it makes me physically sick. I can no longer watch any animal rescue shows because I can stand to see sick or injured animals of any kind.
This might seem silly to be posting this situation here.....but I would appreciate it if anyone has any advice to offer. Could this have abything to do with a past life? |

I have this deep love and appreciation for the animal kingdom as well.. It's so intense! I've recently started to donate to WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals).. I love Birds, Dogs, Cats, Squirrels and so much more. Birds seem to be sitting close to my window and observing me (and i mean really observing with full eye to eye contact).. sometimes i'd find them really staring me down taking peeks and when i turn and look at them straight on they would seemingly try to appear as if they weren't watching me..continuing to sneak direct eye glances from time to time..It's really a nice experience..
Whenever I am in the park alot of birds and squirrels come to 'observe' me with total eye contact for long periods..
I hate seeing them in any distress as well..
Your problem could definately well be a past life experience or experiences..
In a case like animal rescue take into consideration that the rescue is an essential process of helping the animal...so try to be strong in the knowlede that the animal will be better off after the rescue happy, smiling. I feel that you have possibly looked at some animal cruelty videos.. If I am right and you did that that would obviously have some impact on how you view animals in distress. |

Yes - I have the same experiences with birds as well. I see hawks all the time!
I have watched many animal abuse programs and/or videos only because I am an advocate of animals rescue. I have rescued many parrots and have one sitting here with me as I type. I have seen first hand what abuse and neglect can do.....so I do what I can do to take in a bird and provide it with everything it needs to recoup and thrive. You'd be amazed at how even a small bird can show so much appreciation!
I just wish that I could get over the sickness I feel when I see sick, injured or dead animals. |
